MP4Nation Brainwavz HM9 Headphones Review

Introduction

Brainwavz is MP4Nation's own brand. Focusing on mid-end headphones at a decent price point, MP4Nation sells anything from in-ears to tablets and car systems, but we will take a good hard look at their new HM9 set of headphones today. These feature a 40 mm Ø dynamic driver setup and lush pleather pads. The headphones are supra-aural/on-ear headphones, and their close-back design should give them a good amount of noise attenuation, which should make them good for use on the go. Currently available on pre-order for $119, these will eventually be in stock for $149, which drops them right into the price range of such great headphones as the KRK KNS-6400 and KNS-8400s. The $100 to $150 price range is highly competitive, and you have to do a lot to stand out from the crowd. We put the HM9s through their paces to see if they can manage just that.
