Overclocking

The overclocking results listed in this section were achieved with the default fan and voltage settings as defined in the VGA BIOS. Please note that every single sample overclocks differently which is why our results here can only serve as a guideline for what you can expect from your card.

GPU overclock is not displayed due to a GPU-Z bug.

GeForce GTX 650 does not use NVIDIA's Boost Clock mechanism. There is a single GPU and memory clock frequency which will be active during gaming.

The maximum stable clocks of our card are 1310 MHz core (17% overclock) and 1455 MHz memory (16% overclock).

GPU overclocking is quite nice, and provides a significant performance boost. Still, this will not turn the card into a gaming monster. I am not sure if overclocking a card in this performance class is worth it; however, memory OC is lower than expected.

Overclocked Performance

Using these clock frequencies, we ran a quick test of Battlefield 3 to evaluate the gains from overclocking.

Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 17.4%.
