RV351 Info
The only new GPU chip from ATI this year will be the RV351. This AGP-only (8x) chip is produced using a 0.11u process at TSMC.
It comes in three configurations:
Also the RV351 will have an on-die thermal diode, but it's up to the board manufacturers if they add thermal monitoring circuitry to the board.
To sum it up, the RV351 series has the exact same features as the RV350/RV360 series, just on a smaller (=cheaper) manufacturing process. Cards are expected to be less than $100.
Performance will be the same compared to the 9600, overclocks should be significantly better because of the improved process which results in less heat output.
Technically RV351 a 9600 chip, however, the marketing name has not been determined yet.
It comes in three configurations:
- RV351 Pro (400 Mhz core, 300 Mhz mem), 64 or 128 bit memory interface
- RV351 LE (325 Mhz core, 200 Mhz mem), 64 or 128 bit memory interface
- RV351 SE (325 Mhz core, 200 Mhz mem), 64 bit memory interface

Whatever the 9200se and x300 are based on is much too old for even 2d performance in new and next gen OS's (longhorn anyone?) Though longhorn has an advanced 3d interface that wouldnt run on a 9200SE with acceptable frame rates.
i just got a gecube 9550xt extreme platinum, 8x agp, directx 9.0, 400mhz core, 128mb hynix2.2n 300mhz (600mhz).with the r96xtg core rev 1.2. having some problems with finding the best drivers for it. i got a score 6,673 in 3dmark 01 iknow it can do better than that i see other people getting 11,000-13,000. it won't run the benchmarking for nascar heat.
my system specs:
amd xp 2500+
kingston 512mb pc3200
soyo kt 400 dragon ultra platnum
segate 40gb 7200rpm
gecube radeon 9550xt platnum extreme counter strike limited edition
Does ATITool 0.24 identify RV351 in Chip Type? Or does it still show as RV350 ?
