Socket AM2 Launch Date Confirmed
The availability of AMD's next-generation CPUs - the Turion 64 X2 mobile and Socket-AM2 processors - will still follow the chip vendor's May schedule, according to DigiTimes. AMD will launch the Turion 64 X2 mobile platform on May 17 and AM2-compatible processors on May 23. However, the mass production of DDR2 memory for AMD-based systems will begin some time in July or August, one to two months later than originally estimated.
