SuperTalent Announces the USB 3.0 Express DUO 2-CH Flash Drive

...and this is supposed to be what, faster than the other one? That one was at least supposed to be 23MB/s write and 67MB/s read. Not sure how this being 18MB/s write and 69MB/s read is any better...

In my tests of the 8GB Express DUO on USB2.0, I was lucky to get 11MB/s write...

This is because Supertalent has essentially put a SATA SSD onto a USB interface in a stick form factor.

All of their USB 3.0 drives need to be treated with the same alignment rules that apply for SATA SSDs.

If you use diskpart and type:

list disk (look for the number next to the ST drive)
select disk
list partition

You'll see the offset to be 31KB which is the sector 63 offset (bad on Supertalent's part, they should not be using this offset from the factory). If you wipe the partition table and create a new partition with the Vista/7 standard offset of 1024KB it should get better speeds.
