DFI Launches the Highly Anticipated LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R Motherboard

DFI today announced the release of the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R motherboard, DFI's feature-packed AM2 solution geared for the extreme next generation overclockers and enthusiasts. Based on
NVIDIA's nForce4 SLI media and communications processors (MCPs), the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R offers users more control with extra headroom for maximum overclockability. Furthermore, NVIDIA SLI (Scalable Link Interface) technology coupled with compatible NVIDIA GeForce graphic cards can deliver up to two times the rock solid and blazing fast performance.

Support for SLI X16

In addition, the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R comes with two true X16 PCI-e slots. This new architecture allows for faster data transfer at higher bandwidth, meaning users will see significant increases in graphics performance and enjoy enhanced 3D images.

Support for DDR2

With the market shifting to DDR2 memory, the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R offers NVIDIA Certified SLI-Ready DDR2 Memory technology. Users will have a piece of mind with knowing their DFI motherboard and certain DDR2 memory are back up with certified compatibility. The LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R also supports advanced performance memory settings using Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), making it easier for the DIYer to spec and build their own systems.

First to use 5 phase digital PWM

DFI is the first in the industry to use 5 phase digital PWM, a technology prior only seen on server motherboards. Digital controllers eliminate the dangers of overheating and exploding capacitors, giving users a safer and better monitored control over the overclocking.

First copper heat sink fan

As with every LANParty motherboard launch, DFI incorporated a first-in-the-industry on the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R motherboard by being the first to use copper heat sink fan. As a result, heat can be better absorbed using copper, giving users more room to push for extra overclocking.

Realtek ALC885

With greater gaming performance comes greater audio quality. DFI engineers incorporated the new Karajan with a new codec ~Realtek ALC885 on the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R motherboard to bring users the ultimate audio experience suited for the ultimate gaming performance.

EZ Clear function

To facilitate the overclocking process, DFI engineers efficiently incorporated the EZ Clear feature to clear the BIOS with one simple touch of a button. In addition, on-board LEDs help users to pinpoint any trouble spots.

Genius BIOS and Cmos Reload

As is standard on all LANParty motherboards, the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R comes with an extensive BIOS featuring a one-touch BIOS reset setting. The ultimate gamer and overclocker will enjoy tweaking and customizing their boards to squeeze out every ounce of overclockability on their DFI board.

New RAID function

The LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R supports the new RAID function with up to 8 SATAII connectors, giving users the freedom and mobility to connect their system to other external devices.

These clowns just don't get it, do they?

What a POS for a mobo design. Wasted space with worthless PCI-e slots and still only two USABLE PCI slots with proper dual-slot video card cooling. Will someone please buy the mobo companies a CLUE that there is currently little if any value in PCI-e 1X/2X/4X slots when there are no friggin PCI-e cards for these slots but their are millions of PCI cards sold everyday. These people must operate in a vacuum because they sure ain't in touch with the market or their potential customers. No doubt the sheep will be ordering these POS and getting burned again.

it's a matter of marketing, producers must start making pci-e cards 'cause mobos don't have enough free pci slots, someone must be paying them so that the pci slots are unable to be utilized in SLI setups, making the costumer buy a pci-e sound card
Aftr seeing this boards i'm wishing my board to die so i can RMA it, and change for this one :D

PCI-E is the future. 2 PCI slots is plenty IMO.

slow compared to a conroe, the AM2 was not the answer to conroe, was just a upgrade to DDR2, you can compare a athlon to a P4, and a x2 to a Pentium D, not a conroe

WE must to compare cpus on market ... i cant to compare today´s Intel cpus and AMD future cpus, it is stupid ...:banghead: WE must compare performance against performance ... and performance of AMD is poor ... accept it! you A64 user ... :)

if i can get a good system with a low budget (AMD), why should i go to the expensive (INTEL)
why should i buy a expensive cpu, (conroe) if i can play all my games at max. with my cpu (AMD 3000+), and i like to be a A64 user :D

btw: AMD performance is pretty good
btw2: you had athlon x2 on your signature before so you use them too :D (got you)

OBRand little amateur MALWARE : that "digital PWM" is not digital PWM but only cumulative inductor ... read before write stupidity!
Hey man, he's just posting the news, give him a break. If you want to trash talk and flame people, go find another forum to do it in, because you aren't welcome here if you're going to.

OBR, Core 2 Duo's are great CPUs, I admit that, Intel caught up. But it's much more expensive than AMD Dual Cores. Core 2 Duo's are also for benchmark freaks. If you look at actual game performance, it's about the same. Core 2 Duo gets much more frames, when you play at 640x480! But when you crank the resolution up to 1600x1200, not too much of a difference. Games rely mostly on the Video Card, and if you have a CPU that doesn't bottleneck the video card, it's all good. You don't spend your whole day benchmarking do you?

And like veryone else said, PCI is getting older, and like POGE said, PCIe is the future. If DFI replaced the PCIe X1 and PCIe x4 slots with PCI slots, do you think you'll be able to use them anyway? Don't think so. DFI has a really good motherboard design, as they use all 7 slots, unlike other motherboard companies who only use 6, or sometimes only 5! You have 2 PCIe X1 slots on your motherboard too, so I guess it's also a POS like you said about DFI.

I'll say this, AMD vs. Intel is like 2 people on a see-saw, one will always be on top of the other, then they'll switch and the other one will be on top. The heaviest person on a see-saw always stays down longer than the other, and since Intel is a bigger company than AMD, they stayed down longer.

This is not a flaming forum. W1zzard did a great job with this forum, and we need to keep it cean. And great news Malware!
