Omg ATI. Why do i have to fight everytime iam using new drivers with the
monitor refresh rate. Do you ever learn, or listen ? :shadedshu

Lets hope AMD will fire you all.

I would hope AMD wouldn't fire all of ATI cause then the only few companies around you'd get your graphics from are nVidia, Intel, SiS, and Via. All of which you'd probably have just as much or more fun with driver wise :D Other than that 6.8's seem to be working fine.

i am an owner of x1600pro@agp; just installed 6.8 and while the windows loads the monitor turns off, i entered safe mode and it said that this card does not run on CCC and that i should install newer drivers :P; i have netframework 2.0 installed; i also tried 6.8 with CP but the effect was the same; earlier i used 6.6 and now I'm still using it with no problems
I think this may be a first bug in new cats

Worth a try, doubt it will have negative effects.

Well something screwy is going on with my drivers. I Downloaded and installed the 6.8 ATI drivers and when i Open up CCC it shows the drivers as 6.7.

I've tried about 10x now and re-downloaded several times.

Also used a driver cleaner and still no luck.

Whats even more wierd is i was using 6.6 Prior to the install and never even downloaded nor installed the 6.7 because i didn't feel like dealing with it.

Other then that everything works fine just for some reason it says 6.7 instead of 6.8 wonder if anyone else is experincing this?

As long as it only SAYS it, you should be fine...an odd glitch, yes, but it shouldn't affect performance..

we noticed that at 3DCHipset.com as well, the CCC says cat 6.7 but all the driver files for D3D and OGL are newer versions, so its just a naming bug.

I updated the driver to Catalyst 6.8 not long ago and am already experiencing a problem. The 3D preview just doesnt work! Somehow it says that the "Windowed Preview Application" has ocurred a problem and must be closed down.
I am not quite sure why this is happening! Does anyone have any idea on this?

That's what I'm getting too but my PC has been screwing around recently. These drivers have fixed a problem I was having with the winlogon.exe process crashing my PC.
