GK104-Based Products Arriving March 23

Expreview cited sources in the AIC (add-in card) vendors in pinning the launch of GeForce Kepler 104 (GK104) based products to March 23. The products launched are expected to be NVIDIA's first in its next-generation. Some label the top part based on GK104 as "GeForce GTX 670 Ti", while others call it "GeForce GTX 680". A March 23 launch explains reports of hectic activity in the green camp starting this week. NVIDIA typically enters NDAs with its partners over a wide time range, probably this one extends to April (since the launch is now reported to be towards late-March), which led some to believe Kepler was "delayed" to April. NVIDIA recently posted on its Facebook wall that people will be rewarded for their patience with an "unbeatable" product.

About damn time: some competition is needed for the prices to start falling (both ATI and nVidia).

If it competes with the 7xxx series, both camps will likely keep their prices high and happily gouge their customer base. I don't think the company executives will be worrying about us lowly peasants when they are rolling in piles of money.

If the GK104 turns out to be named 670 and 680 would that mean GK100 is scrapped?

I thought i saw a rumor about that somewhere but it's too early to think too far in to that or try and find some unreliable and obscure rumor article i may have seen at some point.

If GK104 beats Tahiti, it means GK100 will be delayed till H2 2012, and launched as GTX 780, when AMD launches its Sea Islands series. :p

If the going gets tough with Radeon HD 7990, NVIDIA will make a dual-GK104 graphics card, but it will sandbag GK100 till AMD's Sea Islands.

It would not surprise me, even to the point where what you say sounds serious (are you :p)

If GK104 is powerful enough to beat out the 7970 it could be a logical thing to hold back GK100 and even more so if it is a monster chip and yields on it are not very good yet, whatever is going on i look forward to finding out what happens.

Damn both of us ninja editing :p
I could easily see a dual GK104 being used as the 690 if they are fast enough, but all this makes me want the reviews as if it supports 3 monitors from a single card a GK104 chip could be a viable option for me.

Would be interested if only there was a game that made my 470 look outdated! So much paranoia and investment from Nv/Ati for exactly what? When was the last MAJOR improvement in games graphics? And I don't think Arma III will get BF3 graphics!

Well, the thing is, most of us aren't aiming for just running the game. We want to run all games maxed out @ 1920*1200 or higher resolution with the maximum possible AA and AF, and achieve a frame rate higher than 60 (120?).
Other than that, Some people just want the fastest, coolest, highest clocked, best performing rig :rockout:. It's like cars, why do some people get Lamborghini or whatever is the current fastest vehicle when your maximum speed is capped at 100MPH or less ?

Maybe I should have added that I run all latest greatest games at 1950x1080 everything maxed (excepted Arma2 viewing distance, LOL) on my GTX470. If a more demanding game comes out, I will turn a thing or 2 down, but it has been proven that most modern games do not look ugly with details down (the DX11 hoax, etc.) But I would really love to invest in a new card if something really nice, visual-technologically speaking, came out. But it is not.

As for the "just want to have the max", I owned the fastest production bike of its time some years ago and enjoyed it. Then common sense returned to control my actions :pimp:

You are right. My old GTX275 has more than three years of service and still plays everything, on 1680x1050 and lower with decent settings and decent framerates.

Excellent timing I just sold my Evga GTX570 on ebay and recovered 95%. Man some people spend it like its rotting away, so bring on the Kepler I needed a upgrade lol. Wonder how long Evga will take for a Hydro version, or should I just jump on a EK block again hmmm decisions decisions lol.

wtf is with the PCI-e power connectors ? The solder points are normal, but why is the connector on top of the other one? :/

it's called : cost reduction. They save 0,001 cent per card, which equals equal shop price, equal salaries, but top 1% of company board doubling profits.
