Biostar Launches Cost-effective Intel Core 2 Duo Motherboard


Biostar Microtech International announced a new cost-effective motherboard for socket LGA 775 enthusiasts, the P4M890-M7 PCI-E, designed for the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU supporting a 1066MHz FSB and one PCI Express x16 port. The Biostar P4M890-M7 PCI-E is based on the VIA P4M890 Chipset + VIA8237R+ South Bridge and utilizes the VIA UniChrome Pro integrated graphics processor (IGP) for multimedia, entertainment, and productivity applications. The VIA UniChrome Pro IGP graphics core also features the Chromotion CE video display engine. The board has support for RAID 0 / 1 arrays, integrated 10/100 LAN and Realtek ALC658 6 Channel audio. The suggested retail price for the Core 2 Duo-based model is about US$55, according to the company. Go to the Biostar webpage for detailed specifications.

and 55$! wow! i hope it has decent oc capabilities

I have built at least 20 systems using Biostar motherboards and have never had a problem with any of them. They may not always have all the advanced features, but they provide great performance for the price. I think this will be a wonderful option for SFF system builders. Also, Biostar normally provides some room for overclocking and I would assume the same will be true with this motherboard.

ive had a biostar mobo for 3 years, and its worked pretty good for me (except my floppy drive has never worked, i even switched out different drives and have a new round floppy drive cable :confused: )
