ASUS Announces Transformer AiO PC with Detachable Tablet and More at CES
ASUS today announced the Transformer AiO at CES 2013, the world's first all-in-one PC with Windows 8 and a detachable 18.4-inch display that doubles as a standalone Android tablet. ASUS also announced the Qube with Google TV media streamer that brings a wealth of online entertainment content to HDTVs, the PA249Q ProArt and VG248QE Fast Gaming monitors, and the WL-330NUL Pocket Router - the world's smallest router that gives easy wireless connectivity to travelers.
ASUS Transformer AiO - the world's first all-in-one PC with a detachable tablet
Transformer AiO is the world's first All-in-One PC with a detachable display that doubles as a standalone tablet for three distinct modes of use. Transformer AiO is a fully featured desktop PC with Windows 8, and is powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core processor with NVIDIA GT 730M graphics for outstanding multi-tasking and entertainment performance. The 18.4-inch Full HD IPS display delivers brilliant images with 178-degree wide viewing angles for easy enjoyment with friends and family, while ASUS SonicMaster audio technology ensures an immersive listening experience with music, movies and everything in between.

The 24-inch PA249Q ProArt has a 1920 x 1200 resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio and features IPS display technology for 178-degree wide viewing angles. Pre-calibrated at the factory for the highest accuracy of any display in this category (∆E <5), the PA249Q ProArt provides six-axis color control and outstanding color space reproduction - 99% Adobe RGB, 103% NTSC and 100% sRGB.

For what its worth I always thought the front was edge to edge gorilla glass so I wouldn’t expect any damage from removing and reinstalling the tablet from its base.

I’m sure Microsoft would prefer that the ASUS Transformer AiO would run Windows 8 Pro on the PC portion and Windows RT on the ARM tablet. Now that I think about it that would give a little more of a consistent feel to the device but I like the overall design and innovative nature of the product,…….probably wouldn’t buy one but you know what I mean,…..
Does anyone want a 15" tablet that weighs 3 pounds and has a battery life of 6 hours?
