Sonnet's Volta increases iPod battery life by 50 hours

Sonnet's Volta plugs right into the iPod like the dock is supposed to, and gives the iPod a massive increase in battery life. The 2100 mAh battery increases an iPod's battery life by between 50 and 60 hours. The battery will also increase an iPod's video playback by between 7 and 18 hours, effectively quadrupling battery life. The Volta itself looks like a sleeve and has 4 LED's to indicate its own battery life before it lets the iPod's on board battery take over. It also allows users to dock the iPod while the Volta is attached, allowing for simultaneous charging and music transfers while the Volta is in. The device is available now for £45.

Good idea.
But I gotta say that the IPOD's onboard battery already lasts a long time.

...sure, but still useful for people who don't have any chance to recharge their iPod for a couple of days, eg. on a camping trip :)

Well, I have a Nano so a big battery pack isn't what I'm looking for. I think there are already similar packs like this, maybe not with such a large increase however.

Not when watching videos, my 30GB ipod is good for about 3 hours of battery life when watching videos continuosly, this battery pack looks really tempting to me, do they sell them in the US?

Hey, they do sell them in the USA! On sale buy.com, $41 free shipping. If I had an iPod video I'd buy it :). Oh yes and next time, I suggest using google/froogle. They're helpful too lol. www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202826901&SearchEngine=Froogle&SearchTerm=202826901&Type=PE&Category=Comp&dcaid=17379 .

Same here, I can listen to songs for hours, and when I'm done, the meter will still show green. Then, when I play a video, it goes to red bar right away.

Great find and great price! Damn that's even cheaper than the white headphones Apple sells at $45 :twitch: had to get a pair of spare hedphones as the ones that came with my ipod didn't last long :(, If I'd known better I would have bought that battery pack and then get a couple of cheap ass generic headphones instead.

Anyway, will get one of these next time I go to the US. Thanks for the link, I promise to use froogle next time :o :D
