QNAP Also Introduces the Cost-Efficient VS-2100L Series VioStor NVR

QNAP Security today launched the newest Linux-based VioStor NVR VS-2100L series. The 2-bay VS-2100L series, available in a tower form factor with 4 and 8 channels, is designed micro-size with macro-functions for the home and small office users. Compact but fully loaded with advanced features, the VS-2100L series supports smart recording, multi-stream support, edge recoding, dewarping function, and more.

The VS-2100L series supports up to 8TB to accommodate high quality H.264, MPEG-4, M-JPEG, and MxPEG video recording. "The VS-2100L series provides many advanced features parallel to those available in superior models at a low total cost of ownership," said Amily Fang, product manager of QNAP Security. "We aim to offer a cost-efficient surveillance solution for home surveillance needs such as childcare, elder care, and home security."
The VS-2100L's smart recording effectively avoids the need for constant storage consumption, and achieves greater storage efficiency and boosts recording quality when alarm events happen. The multi-stream support enables administrators to flexibly define multiple video streams (supported by specific camera models) according to bandwidth resources and number of live-view channels.

A wide range of AXIS IP cameras for edge recording function is supported by the VS-2100L series. When an unexpected disconnection disrupts the VS-2100L's recording from monitored IP camera(s), the edge recording feature enables the VS-2100L to retrieve missing videos that have been temporarily stored on the cameras once the network connection is restored, ensuring that important video streams are all properly stored.

Other advanced features that the VS-2100L series provides include fisheye dewarping support, multi-server monitoring, and advanced event management. The fisheye dewarping function allows the administrators to view the monitored area in a clearer shape. Multi-server monitoring enables administrators to monitor up to 128 IP cameras by connecting multiple VioStor NVRs and monitor them with one browser on remote computers. Advanced event management helps administrators stay immediate alerted when critical events happen.

Managing the VS-2100L series is effortless on different platforms with the software QNAP Surveillance Client for Windows and for Mac, and the VMobile mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5 devices. In addition to managing via the web-based administration interface on computers, remote monitoring of IP cameras is also accessible through the VMobile app on Android & iOS devices and Windows Mobile phones. The mobile app offers great convenience to monitor connected IP cameras anytime on the go.

The VS-2100L is compatible with over 2,200 IP camera models of various popular brands, offering high flexibility in deploying an ideal surveillance solution.
