Chaintech Announces iGame Z97 Motherboard

Chaintech, brought back to life as a motherboard brand, in partnership with Colorful, launched the iGame Z97 socket LGA1150 motherboard. A cross between a gamer-centric and overclocker-centric motherboards, the iGame Z97 combines strong electricals with features gamers expect, such as good onboard audio, and Killer E2200 NIC. The board's most striking feature is its full-coverage water block, which cools the CPU VRM and Z97 PCH.

The LGA1150 socket is powered by a 16-phase VRM. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. Expansion slots include three PCI-Express 3.0 x16, and four PCI-Express 2.0 x1. Storage connectivity includes six SATA 6 Gb/s, and an mSATA. Display outputs include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. 8-channel HD audio, with an OPAMP circuit and electrolytic capacitors, and Killer E2200 NIC. Dual-BIOS, and a feature-rich setup program, make for the rest of it. Chaintech is planning to launch the board in Europe and APAC markets.

Actually it can't oc too much... My friend has it and campare to the m6e and told me it can't oc too much as m6e

So it's basically another EVGA(BIOS issues have made EVGA really unpopular for OCing even thoough the hardware is fine) except with a ton of phases

The thing with colorful product is that.. they go overboard with components but then.. the performance doesn't actually live up to expectation, like their graphics cards, all those ridiculous number of phases, yet cannot even OC past a reference card with a beefed up cooler. I'm beginning to wonder if those components are just "glued-on" for show and isn't even electrically connected with the circuitry.... don't flame, just curious is all.

Well I immediately saw the iGame log and expected something crazy which this honestly has not disappointed in that area. Though I would like to see some results on this for overclocking since a few just said its not as good as it would seem but I still would like to see one.

Wow, yea. I had a Chaintech board with a Cyrix 200+ chip (equivalent of a 486 IIRC). That goes back to the mid 1990's!

My last ever chaintech product(prolly there last product as well) was this amazing soundcard. I still own it the envy24 chip was so amazing.

well anything above 8 phases is overkill.

i think i remember some 24 phases models ... wait even 40 and 32(36) phases ... ahaha

if they would be available locally for me i would try one (OC and such) on the + side the fittings for the water cooling on the VRM/PCH is trying to convince me to find another Z97 mobo (joking ... i love my MVIIRanger)

Anyway, this board has nearly 1 METER of rubber sealing ring, that's a lot of leaking chance...
