AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series RDNA2 Pictured Some More, Including a Smaller Twin Fan Variant

A new picture, and two new renders of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards were shown to the web by JayzTwoCents. These build on top of the official render and Fortnite 3D model reveal from Monday. The first picture shows a top angle shot of AMD's upcoming flagship card, with its dual-slot, triple fan cooling solution. You also get to see the new fan design that has webbed impellers, similar to the ASUS Axial-Tech fans, which direct all their airflow axially, onto the heatsink below. Besides red and black, there are silver bits on the metal cooler shroud, including bits of reflective chrome, and diamond-cut bores of the fan intakes.

Jayz also revealed a never-before-seen smaller reference design card from the RX 6000 series, which features a slightly shorter board design, and a dual-fan setup. He predicts that the larger triple-fan card could be released as a range-topping RX 6900 series, while the dual-fan card could launch in a different segment—6800 or 6700 series. AMD is expected to reveal the RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards on October 28, 2020, but along the way we're sure to receive many more such reveals.

ZoneDymofeels like the first teaser of just that logo on the card was ages ago, weird to think they are not out yet
Yeah, I have to say at this point I would much prefer an earlier announcement with a waiting period where I can plan a build rather than this interminable teasing and announcements of announcements ... though at this point it does sound like they're waiting for the three announced RTX cards to arrive and be reviewed so that they can adjust pricing and marketing accordingly.

PooPipeBoyI can't unsee the very obvious cooler side profile that Radeon adopted from the Nvidia 2080 founders edition.
Hopefully Radeon at least improved it by making it easier to disassemble.

Yup, the "imitators" moniker would feel more than justified here...

TheUnbrainedWell... thats clearly a team rocket R on these cards
Let's hope RDNA2 isn't blasting off again in terms of TDP!

I dont understand. The Rx6000 series has more simularities with the Vega II rather then Nvidia's design. And second; chances are big that they simple order their heatsink(s) at the same vendor that's qualified for XXX amount of "TDP". They slap a shroud on and it's done.

If you want to have your own custom heatsink then pick a AIB that offers a different one. I usually throw off the heatsink and head for a waterblock. Temps are much better and less noise.

Seeing the quite high consumption of 3080 I think there's no chance of that - the red boys will almost certainly feel that cranking their "Biiiig Navi" to the limit and beyond is justified...

Well I don't mind this design. But they really needed to reveal these cards sooner because I am not waiting till October for the top end segment cards to see if they really are competitive with 3080/3090 since alot of people are going to be buying up those cards way before these are even revealed. But we shall see and I hope they are.

This is one of the closest GPU launch we had in recent years. I'm not sure what is with people so eager to buy new GPUs on launch day and can't wait one more month.

Why would that matter, Nvidia just smashed that concern into oblivion.
300 watts max at stock for the 6800XT , just better perform too.

I mean it is but I have been waiting 4 years for a new GPU in general. But thats my system as I generally skip a generation and buy a new top end. Not to mention its time to rebuild my cooling system so I have been anxious to do that.

z1n0xPeople talking about AMD copying Nvidia cooler design, probably has never seen custom AIB coolers before. Heres a clue, the sides are open.

Nvidia shouldnt have abandon the RTX 2k looks, its still the best looking gpu shroud to date. They could refined it by removing the ugly bolts.

I dont like RTX 3k, it looks like BBQ grlll with lids that will pump hot air right into my cpu cooler.
yeah, I don't like RTX 3k FE either. the 12 pin placement is a bit weird, and all those grill design will be collecting dust. And I'm not a fan of one of the fan placement facing up..

I'm more into classic design, card facing down. RTX 2K FE and Radeon VII reference are the best looking card ever imo.
What excites me is not the reference card since it won't be available in my country, but Sapphire's custom Nitro card. My RX 480 nitro still looks so damn good in 2020. Solid card, loving it.

With 2x 8-pin connector? Nah, not in a million years.
On an unrelated note I'm selling my oven.

Makavelihey if it works why recreate the wheel.
Because that's where innovation occurs?

I would rather AMD's focus be on a solid launch with good drivers, good stock levels and close to MSRP pricing.

They can do an innovative cooler next year :)

I agree given where they are coming from (we don't need another Navi driver funstorm), was just speaking generally.

Xex360Doesn't look very pretty, waiting for Sapphire's cards.
That pile of trash looks gross... let's wait and look at a steaming pile instead? :p
