ECS Presents Latest Ultra-Small and Multi-functional Mini PC

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), the global leading motherboard, Mini-PC, Notebooks, mobile device and smart city solutions provider, is proud to present the latest ultra-small and power efficient mini PC - LIVA Q1A/ Q1A Plus. The size is only 74 x 74x 34.6 mm, just as light as a mouse yet with desktop performance. LIVA Q1A features quad core Rockchip SoC and Q1A Plus features quad and dual core Rockchip SoC. It can save 15% of power consumption but increase 50% of performance. Designed by ARM-based CPU and the aluminium CPU heat sink, LIVA Q1A series can keep cool without fan.

The fanless design makes it silent and energy-saving. LIVA Q1A series supports up to 4K resolution, HDMI CEC remote control function, Android system and open SDK. LIVA Q1A series is tiny enough to mount in any limited space and suitable for variety of digital signage application such as shopping mall, smart classroom, transportation, hotels and healthcare center.
Multiple High Performances CPU
LIVA Q1A is powered by Rockchip RK3288 up to 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex A17 while LIVA Q1A Plus integrated with two kinds of Rockchip RK3399. One is dual-core Cortex-A72, which is up to 1.8 GHz and the other is quad-core Cortex-A53. The CPU will run A53 for low power consumption. If the application needs more computing power, A72 CPU will increase performance by 50%, which can decrease power consumption.

4K Visual Experiences
LIVA Q1A series equipped with multiple ports. Q1A features 1 Micro USB, 3 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI 2.0 and 1 Gigabit Lan. LIVA Q1A Plus equipped with 2 USB Gen1 x 1, 1 HDMI 2.0 and 1 DisplayPort 1.2, supports dual display up to 4K resolution for high quality of visual experience, which is the perfect fit for retail sales promotion, healthcare information board.

Better Usability with HDMI CEC
The latest LIVA mini PC Q1A/Q1A Plus support HDMI CEC function via HDMI cable to remote controller. It allows users to switch on and off screens with remote controller, which is suitable for digital signage application. Hotels, hospitals and public transportation can use it as guide board.

Flexible platform for Varies Applications
LIVA Q1A/Q1A Plus support Android 8.1 operation system and open SDK, enterprises and companies are able to customize their demands. The only way id buy this is if it was dirt cheap...

The RK3288 SoC is hella old (2014). The RK3399 is 2016 but still old AF. Both 28nm.

I think the only reason why this product exists is because they have an excess inventory of those SoCs and they need to find a way to dump them. Maybe the automotive industry would be interested in them SoC's

Their price has also got to compete with raspberry pi

They are aimed at POS terminals, information kiosks, maybe education, not really marketed towards consumers. In this kind of usage you don't really want to use Raspberry Pi - you'd need the Pi, case and, most importantly, someone to put it together. Just the cost of labor would probably exceed the cost of Raspberry Pi on its own - thank minimum wage laws for that -, that's why there is a huge market for plug and play solutions like this.
