The alpha testing with Gothic remake - the demo they released had some of the worst combat I've ever experienced. I hope they scrapped that combat and made something better.....the combat from the demo made combat in the original Gothic game look like a masterpiece.

I'm cautiously optimistic about both. TQ had a unique charm because of subtle mythology references. The masteries were also something else, who would have guessed you could be a melee tank combining Spirit and Dream? It's unknown whether the new development team is up to the task. Gothic was a (super)gem, I hope I can enjoy it knowing the story already.

Titan Quest II is the only game that interests me from the list, but after watching the trailers for all of them I can safely say they are all going on my wishlist.

Titan Quest II, Tempest Rising, Last Train Home, those interest me.
Titan Quest 1 was not far behind Diablo 2, Tempest Rising is supposed to be a spirital successor to C&C and Last Train home reminds me a bit to Frostpunk somehow...

Ah Tempest Rising is trying to be C&C, I was definitely getting those vibes. It's been such a long time since we had a decent C&C game, I'm very tentatively hopeful!

I still don't get why people talk about "new C&C". In my mind, C&C was just a Warcraft1/2 or DuneII wannabe. Sure, it added its own mechanics, but it never felt as engaging as the former titles. At least not to me. And then StarCraft happened and everyone was like "C&C who?".

I never played Warcraft 1 or 2, & I've never even heard of Dunell. C&C just happened to be the shiz when I was growing up so those are the ones I played. I've never been interested by StarCraft, I think because it's centered around aliens, & since I played C&C I'm just used to predominantly human military style of strategy games.
C&C just happened to enjoy a long time of being the strategy game franchise exactly when I was getting into that type of game. I'll never forget the main theme music & some of the units' sound bytes in RA2. Such good memories.

Titan Quest was like Diablo2 in terms of how getting the right items made you into a tank making the Game enjoyable after level 2. The problem was that it was too short. Even shorter than Torchlight. It is also old but the engine is sweet as movement is pure ARPG goodness with nice spells and graphics.

Whilst the film is before my time on this Earth, I love 80s films so have seen it! I haven't watched the fairly recent remake though, I don't expect it's worth the two hours or so investment...

A fellow Trine fan! I remember the first one coming out & being in awe of how pretty it was. Such fun games to play with family or friends on a TV. I too found Exoprimal more fun than I expected tbh.

I had no idea it existed until I watched the MSI Gaming live stream last week. My Deadeye is now at Level 10 and i just had a very satisfying PVP episode after Grenading like 150 raptors.

I installed it on launch day, making the most of my Game Pass sub! I saw team PvE & waves of dinosaurs, so I was immediately in! It doesn't seem to have much variation though, but maybe that'll change as more content is released. Tell you what though, I'd be unhappy if I'd paid full price, I definitely think it should be a free to play! No doubt it will be in a few months I'm sure.

Interesting world where Piranha Bytes lost the gothic ip, for a remake to be made by a different studio, meanwhile Piranha Bytes is owned by the same company.
I really wish they would return to their glory games, Gothic 1 / 2 were great Gothic 3 was good after updates, Risen 1 was great, ELEX 1 was good but the rest not so much.

First thing they should do is keep their scope in check, I feel like that's the main issue of the studio.

Gothic 3 - even after the official updates, the game still wouldn't run properly for me, it would crash. I found out that some stupid font type they used in the game, if it wasn't actually part of the available fonts on your computer the game would crash because it was missing. I had to find the specific font type to fix the crashing. Also, the unofficial patch is very much needed to help fix other various bugs and crap that the devs didn't/couldn't/wouldn't get to fixing. I never did complete Gothic 3....one day, maybe. The first 2 I loved. The first Risen was decent, never booted up the second or third and I thought Elex was decent. I picked up a copy of Elex 2 for pretty cheap, but I haven't tried it yet.

Anyone ever play Gothic 4 (Arcania: Gothic 4)? I remember playing the demo and it was appallingly bad. Should never have carried the Gothic name, ever. Ick. This game made Gothic 3 look like a masterpiece.

Imho, it was superior to D2 in letting you combine two masteries. Way more builds to try that way. Short, maybe. But that was solved with the expansion. It added just one chapter, but it was a long one. Sunk a ton of hours in both of them.
