Manhunt 2 Banned in the UK – Again
After initially being banned in the UK almost four months ago, the revised version of Manhunt 2 has yet again been refused a classification by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), which effectively bans the game from being sold in the UK. The modified version of the game did manage to receive a Mature rating in the USA after initially being given an Adults Only rating, but in the UK the BBFC ruled that the "casually sadistic nature" of kills in Manhunt 2 is still unacceptable, despite Rockstar reducing some of the visual detail of executions. Any decision to appeal now rests with Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's publisher, although Rockstar is unlikely to continue making the game family-friendly just to get it a UK rating.

Personally, I think the whole manhunt series sucks and rockstar games cant make a decent product, but that is just me.
a few old farts who decide for me if i would find something offensive or not.
I personally haven't seen Manhunt 2, esp. the original that brought all the fuss. But I'm pleased there HAS been censorship and a quiet uproar. It brings the issue to the table. What are games for: and does it need to follow the route of the hollywood gore/snuff/hostel movies, or is there another (or hundreds of other) avenues for games and entertainment.
Personally, I'm not into Schadenfreude (look it up if you dont know what it means), especially gore and maming. BUT I do love FPS shooters and Soldier of Fortune. Interesting philosophical tension there.
