Duke Nukem Forever Trailer Released

Possibly the most delayed video game in history, Duke Nukem Forever, has just had a new trailer released - over six years since the last one. The video is about a minute long, and according to George Broussard of 3D Realms, the company developing the game, it was originally created internally as a festive treat. Broussard said:
"The release is still 'when it's done,' but you can expect more frequent media releases and we're not changing engines again and we have considerable work behind us. It's basically a restart as the tech changed and we've been on this version of the game since 2004 or so. The released media up to this point are no longer relevant other than for curiosity purposes.
The trailer for the game, which began development in 1997, can be viewed here.

Yeah, looks pretty good, from the little you see of it, but I think we'll have ray-tracing GPU's when this game comes out. "The release is still "Done when it's done" LOL, I'll believe it when I see a demo released (and even then I'd be weary).

It's only cinematics... no in game video so we won't know how it really looks.

Are you sure they have been working on it for 10 years. Maybe it's optimized to play like that in game(on Dx11)

"Aside from the intro and ending titles, and 2-3 Final Cut white flashes to accentuate music beats, the teaser is 100% captured from in game via Fraps.

Hope you like it."

Duke has taken the longest vacation, but I think its time for him to go back to work. The original that had awe-struck millions of gamers worldwide still wait for this, I think, the most anticipated game of all time. This better not be another joke, or I will swear myself to never buy anything from 3drealms again :nutkick:

I just don't believe it...

Why, just this morning I thought to myself, for no reason whatsoever, "I wonder if anything is still going on with that vaporware Duke Nukem Forever?"

and now this... it's just too good to be true. Maybe they've been working on that trailer for 10 years.

As long as it's not as disappointing as STALKER, FEAR, DeusEx2, Thief3, Black&White2, etc. I'll be happy.

i think it has to be a dx10 game, they started it on dx1 and its taken them a year every year to more one dx, so my guess is it will be a dx11 game and come out next year:laugh:

Yeah, it doesn't have that "cinematic" look to most of the trailer. The beginning scenes look like gameplay typea stuff. Slightly less graphics than crysis I think, maybe Doom 3-ish? Which is still pretty good. Graphics don't make Duke Nukem, its Duke that makes the game anyways. Wtf has 3D-Realms been doing anyways, release it already, damn.

My grandchilds will play this on their calculators when it's released.

Some minor flaws in the rendering make me think this is actually ingame graphics - or their cinematics department is just a bunch of chimps that missed the achievments of CGI in the last decade.

Maybe we should lay the Duke Nukem franchise to bed ... and smother it to death. I don't think it will live up to its hype.

The trailer to the game that was "supposed" to come out is found on gamespot, better looking than the pre half-life like graphics seen on the link that Dan posted. Weird how I've never seen that trailer before though, guess some people seem to be more excited about this than I am!
