Windows XP Home - No security updates after 12/31/06

XP Professional and Home are divided into two general product categories for Microsoft, namely business and consumer products. XP Professional, as a business product, will receive mainstream support for two additional years after the release of Windows Vista (whenever that may be). After that, Professional will have an additional five years of extended service (minimum), though this could be lengthened considerably if the OS update after Windows Vista does not ship within three years of Vista's debut.
That's most interesting. It means that there will be no security updates after 12/31/06 for Windows XP Home users.

XP Home users may feel left outside alone.especially because of the fact that most PCs that are being sold nowadays, by big companies like Dell, Gateway, HP, Compaq & eMachines, have Windows XP Home pre-installed.

I smell a petition (that will of course do nothing).

Hmmm, I am sure that ALOT of ppl r using Windows Xp Home and that they (including myself) will be pissed off. I mean, why make it for Pro when you're not making it for Home? I'm sure there are more Home users out there than Pro users...

This is not a good way to force ppl to use Vista M$...

If Linux could play more good games, I'd definately be waving goodbye to Windows...
