VIA goes 64 bit with their new Isaiah core.
After AMD and Intel it's VIA turn to release a 64 bit processor. However, it's still a VIA cpu, meaning it'll consume little power. Besides adding 64 bit instructions VIA also added some features to increase digital media performance and increased the FSB and "out of order, superscalar execution" which should boost the clockspeed alot. No speeds are mentioned though.

In addition VIA will finally show their dual, and even quad, EPIA platforms at the Fall Processor Forum.

VIA procs are slow as well, but they can be cooled passive with ease. That's where their strength lies. If this Isaiah can be passively cooled and indeed runs HDTV perfectly it'll be an interesting piece of crap ;)
It's just an other market than Intel/AMD
