The Intel Pentium II Xeon 450 was a server/workstation processor with 1 core, launched in October 1998, at an MSRP of $824. It is part of the Pentium II Xeon lineup, using the Drake architecture with Slot 2. To further increase overall system performance, up to four Pentium II Xeon 450 CPUs can work together in a multi-processor (SMP) configuration. Pentium II Xeon 450 has 512 KB of L2 cache and operates at 450 MHz. Intel is making the Pentium II Xeon 450 on a unknown production node using 8 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Pentium II Xeon 450, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 35 W, the Pentium II Xeon 450 consumes only little energy. The highest officially supported memory speed is 100 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. This processor lacks integrated graphics, you might need a graphics card.
A lot of games will not work on this processor, because they require the SSE instruction set, which is not supported.
