The NZXT Beta is an extremely affordable enclosure with a sub 50 US Dollar price tag. We take a close look at the case to see if any corners were cut to keep the price down or if NZXT managed to combine usabilty, a solid feature set with that low, low price tag. In other words: will it come across as cheap or affordable?

Looks wise this case doesn't grab my attention.

Waiting for Amazon to stock them. :P

Wow, that is silly affordable for what it is!

Don't forget the extra fan

Already bought this for a build 2 weeks ago. It was a great case for the money. The HD audio cable is short considering where it needs to be connected on 90% of motherboards out there. Also, remember to order at least 1 extra fan and maybe two more thumbscrews if you swap 5.25 drives a lot.

Strange note: The case has a slot for a 3.5 drive, but the faceplate blocks it. It is kinda weird to even include it if you can't really use it. I mean I know I can stick a hard drive in there, but then why not turn it to match the other drive bay ports.

Mine will be here tommorow :).

Looks like a very swell case indeed! And pretty nice price on it as well.

nice case wrong name

I don't like the power or reset buttons, exposed front ports, lack of a 5.25" to 3.5" adapter and hard drive rack is not secure to my likings. everything else is nice and offers pretty good value for it's price range. if they removed the liquid cooling tube grommets and the front plastic that is in the stylish fin design they probably could of used thast money for a flip cover for the front ports or included a dust filter on the side panel.

tasty budget case, small plain and affordable also has soem nice layout and features

for me its a winner, id get it if i wanted a smaller tower or a budget case!

front panel is plastic to save on costs, its a budget case duh!

hmm.. Will be sticking with my Zerodegree for a longg time...

I just looked that case up. I love the concept. Are they still making & selling a case like this? BTW I'd like to see some pics of yours. That's just a really cool concept, I was like, you mount the mobo how now?!

how much does teh arocoool cost? can it take a tall 120 mm tower?

cana beta take a tall tower cooler as welll?

that's pretty cool

heh, forgot to answer your Q, I don't think they're making them anymore tho...:P

kk let's not drag this topic away:P

I like this case a lot for a mid tower. I would definately consider using this in a build over the antec 300 just for the cable management that the 300 lacks.

Simple reason really. NZXT has taken an OEM frame and slapped their own front on it. No other way really to offer a case that cheap. That frame has a 3.5 inch bay, but NZXT decided to ignore that and go with their own front. I docked the case 0.2 points for that and 0.2 for the short audio I/O cable...

cheers

I just got mine setup 5 secs ago. Im loving it except for one thing. The audio port on my headphones only gets 1 ear working. Other than that. Great case with superb cable managment.

so when will the final version come out?

Very exceptional for a sub $50.00 case. As such I would not knock it for not having a cpu cut out of the mobo tray for brackets and changing of coolers. This is really a premium of high end cases and are actually something very new. I love the all black interior and the cut outs for cable management. NZXT seems to be hitting on all cylinders with their cheap cases.
