Alright i need some help here ive upgraded my entire computer and its not working. I replaced everthing but the computer case itself.
I turn my computer on and it gets to the post screen and a bit further then just shuts down, if i power it on again it turns off even faster than last time, now if i wait about 30 secs or so it will go as far as it did the first time which is right after the post screen and power off.
I have tried both power supplies i have and it made no difference unless both have gone bad.
Specs:
Power Supply: Antec Neo HE 550 Watt(Dual Video/Pci-E Support)
Mother Board: Abit IL8 Series
Processor: Lga 775 Intel Pentium D 3.4 Ghz 800 Mhz Fsb[Dual Core, 64 Bit, Virtuazilation]
Memory: 2x DDR2 667 Crucial Balstics 512 MB
Hard Drive: Westren Digital 250Gb Sata
Video: Saphire Radeo X1800 GTO2 512 MB[Limited Edition]
Other: Floppy Drive, Dvd Drive, CD Burner
I have tried to go back to the source i took everthing out of my computer excluding the processor mother board and psu. It then just beebs at me loudly and then turns off at about the smae time it was with everthing plugged in which is about 10 secs.
My dad works with computers for a living and ive been around them all my life and neither of us can figure out whats wrong.
Oh, i had a 460 Watt Power Supply, butt it wasnt able to support my video card so i had to get a higher one, which is the 550 watt im using now.
My old computer turned off during a lightning storm well nothing was damagedand 15 min later when the storm was over it worked fine. But the 460 psu was in there at that time. With the new mother board in i have switched out both new and old power supplies and it does the same thing.[This is not the same mother board or any part that i had during this storm.]
I even went as far as moving the computer to a different room thats on a differnt part of the circuit breaker to see if maybe it was not getting enough power, this was not the case either.
My only guess is that the 460 psu isnt stong enough to support everthing or has developed an eltircl problem slowly after the storm, but then the new psu should ahve taken care of that on a completly new system, unless i managed the 550 psu i got from bestbuy had a short in it and is bad to. In that case i got like 10 days to return it to bestbuy.
Anybody have any idea waht is going on or why it is doing this?¿? Any help or suggestions are greatly apperciated.
Thanks in Advance....
