AM2+ is the same size. It will fit. I've used a CoolerMaster v8 on a Phenom II 965. Works extremely well. It's not advertised to fit, but it does.

One other suggestion, I'm just building a PC with a 955 BE for my neighbour and am using a thermolab baram with a 1200rpm scythe slipstream on it, very quiet and legendary cooling from past experiences - had one cooling an x2 550 BE passively with load temps around 48-50 for a while.

You wanna have a powerfull cooling. Find a Arx Tech fan. It was 80mm fans used on low profile socket 462 heatsink. 4850rpm and 62.5 CFM. Ceramic bearing ...you won't find better :)

A fan that fast has gotta be pretty loud though, I have a thermaltake streetfighter in the top of my case (80mm, 1800-5500rpm variable, anywhere from 22-80CFM) and it sounds like a vaccumn cleaner on full whack :D

Also, the baram isn't much bigger than the dark knight:
Baram (with fan): 160x132x87mm
Dark Knight (With Fan): 160x120x77mm

Wider and deeper, yes, but it should still fit so long as your case isn't seriously little

My 5k RPM fan pushes 190 CFM. Loud as hell though, better with two 120mm that are quiet and can move alot of air.

Eeww. Who uses 80mm fans?! I use a 120mm fan, 1900rpm and 89cfm. Much more airflow without all the yucky high speed 80mm noise.

I do use them and thats enough for me because I have a ram tunnel on the side panel. I do not care about noise as long as it cool. anyway who cares about fan noise when youre playing at battlefield with continuous machine guns and artillery ? :p

Your forgetting, some of us sleep by our systems to protect them from those that go bump in the night:laugh: I use to be the same way but I gotta start taken care of the old ears if I want to be able to keep hearing the games I play.

Back to the topic. I've actually been quite happy with this Cooler Master V8 on my C2 PII 965. Idle temp of 30 Celcius and Load temp of 47 Celcius @ 3.8Ghz w/ 1.45 volts.
