I am more just watching then anything. I think my next rig build might look like this

4ghz or so bulldozer and a pair of the 6970's.

but that'll be late late late next year as my current thuban machine is just fine. However a 6970 does look tempting to upgrade over my current card. I will wait for the reviews and a week or 2 later for any driver update iron outs to see how things go.

The prices aren't to bad.

But as said, i still would like to see the reviews first. As i can still get a 570 for a little less then those prices, so i really want to see how they compare.

For those that are currenlty close to the 3am mark I've read that the nda doesn't left until 5am-6am time frame.

Bit the bullet. Got a crossfire mobo though, thats why nvidia is out for this gen for me. If i like my 6970 ill pop another one in when i need it down the road. Im forseeing a sale of 2 4890s in the future...

its actually not true and in some games the Phenoms beat the I's. It depends on the types of code optimizations in use and wether the load is steady or erratic and how it read and pages from ram etc etc etc.

basically. disregard most instnaces of Intel kicking AMD's ass. Its alot of show boating and rigging going on where the code is heavily optimized for intel and heavily deoptimized for AMD. when the margins are fiarly close, its likely a valid benchmark. When they are really spread like intel is 8x faster at something. Pull out the BS flag.

look up the settlement with the FTC regarding AMD/Via and Intel on the code compiler they sell. Which BTW is used in a ton of benchmakrs, mostly video encoding benchmarks to boot.
