What is wrong with you? Cant you read? I said IF the video is legit!!! Oh and believe me, there is a reason why the BD line got delayed. The frequency of the produced chips was too low to compete with current intel offerings, so AMD is preparing a new stepping!
Mark my words, if BD doesnt beat SB, AMD is in truble.

I am not trying to diss the chip, i was a AMD supporter once(socket 939), but for 2 gens now, they just cant find the right path.IMHO

Well I i think the video is probably legit (the guy definetly has the chips), the thing that bothers me is that SuperPI is absolutely useless and doesn't tell anything.
I agree with the delay reasons, maybe even the yields still weren't that good someone also mentioned (assumed) Llano was a priority which could lead to BD being pushed back.

Well I don't think AMD will be in trouble, Llano is turning out to be very good, especially for laptops and such (that's where the money is ;)), and don't forget about the server chips which could provide a nice profit. AMD wasn't in trouble during Nehalem so I don't see them in trouble now.
Agree with not finding the right path, they are a bit late with Llano and BD.

Agree on the Llano chip, nice work there. I was mostly refering to desktop chips with the "in trouble" part, ;).
But yeah, i am mostly just pissed off becouse of the long time waiting for "official" benchmarks.
:toast:

I agree with AMD not being in that much trouble, unless BD turns out to be a complete dud that needs yet another delay and stepping after the upcoming one. Besides the mobile and server parts, AMD still has some GPUs which are said to be reasonably profitable and doing well. That takeover was a genius idea of... Was it Ruiz back then?

Just shut up, seriously. Shut up. AMD is doing just fine. They got slammed with orders for llano an bobcat products and maxed out fab capacity, its obvious when you look at orders and revenues for the last 2 qaurters. AMD is doing just fine.

BD just has to be a value and profitable and OEM friendly. It hould handily manage all of that, beating intel is just a plus if it occurs.

No need for fighting. We just need to wait a little longer and then we can review the performance of the real chips.

If they are competitive, hopefully it will cause some price cuts, and all of us consumers will win, regardless of brand preference.

Not that it probably matters much as the end of Q2 is wrapping up but I just got off the phone with AMD and thought I'd take a long shot and ask about the FX release date. Only info is Q3 so take it for what it's worth. :banghead:

So what's the plan now? You still need to get your watercooling stuff any way. What's a few months

Maybe they will launch the 7000 series of GPUs and Bulldozer in the fall together.
Or they ran into some problems and are reeling. We'll know soon enough.

I totally agree AMD is in truble and truble is not a place you want to be.

LEAVE AMD ALONE!!!

Big truble, but don't be dissing him.

There is nothing to suggest any of the pics/benches here are real even if they are this still tells us nothing, I for one will be waiting for the real deal and most likely building an BD HTPC when they come out :toast:

truble indeed!!

the are selling every piece of silicon they can make right now, how is that " trouble " if selling all the product you can produce is a problem. Please include me in this group.

Bulldozer will be fine. If not buy Intel. The benches you see online are of an engineering sample IF they are even real. Waste of time even if they are real as engineering samples are not the final product. You would think this community would know better.

The joke. You missed it.

AMD will do fine... as it was mentioned time and time again, they are currently at the max production capability of their fabs, producing APUs....
They simply dont have the capacity for anything besides a paper lauch of BD... and i guess they rather wait, then do that.;)

again speaking some sense, as if AMD hasnt been in trouble before, and its still here, just like intel.
imho AMD just refocused early on given possible poor BD speeds etc to pay more attention to the E series and lano for use in pads phones dells hps(ie off shelf pcs) etc and on giving nvidia a beating whilst they were on the front foot.
their old ceo dissmissed phones and pads and he went, then they sold plenty of chips for phones and pads and old ceo's lovechild BD got delayed, its not brain surgery.

where is this truble place anyway??:D

oh n some peeps need some green, seriously, stressed fanboy allert:roll: get outside in some fields;) and chill out for a bit its soothing:pimp:

For an ES, that's not bad at all, IMO. IF they are legit.

I'd say pretty darn good if true. And if it translates to other tests/situations.

But it's worse than Intel's previous generation. It'll most likely get its ass kicked by Sandybridge and be murdered by socket 2011 and Ivybridge.

None of those games "benched" are CPU intensive.

I would not be suprised it that was the fact in some cases. But if it goes head to head with the 990X (which is a fast CPU) at a good price point it's not too shabby.

But Bulldozer is supposed to be competing with Sandybridge now. If it was engineering sample issues, then we would be seeing performance like that against Sandybridge parts, not Nehalem.

I see Sandybridge parts outperforming Bulldozer parts by around 20% at the least.

It depends, IF (that word is being used a lot) it is a real BD ES, then it depends on what revision as the 1st revision has been scrapped for a higher clocked/tweaked revison hence delays.

All still stupid speculation and nothing more, YAWNNNNNNNNNNN :o

I suspect this has the same issues as the K12 Llano....it's a multiplier locked ES

so it is still 2.8GHz

According to the article it was Oc to 4GHz same as the OC on the Intel chip
