OFFICIAL Star Citizen

Get used to the big patches. Happens often in alpha builds. It is one of those sucky things with playing alphas.

That being said, they fixed something that I bug reported!! The Hornet doesn't eat all of its fuel using the afterburners anymore! They now just need to work on the IFCS putting the brakes on when coming off of a burn.

I actually found out about this from a post here on TPU, when the last week or so of the kickstarter was counting down. I hesitated for a little bit though. If I remember correctly, I waited until the last day of the kickstarter and pledged on the RSI website itself.

I'll definitely be hitting up the single player campaign before I delve into the persistent universe, even if it means I'll be a bit behind.

AC is loads of fun. Some issues are present, but it is to be expected. I also jumped on the MIS upgrade for my freelancer. Can't wait for those Connie variants!

Also, is anyone having issues with artifacts when trying to use sli/crossfire? I've read that it is a current issue, but then I'm seeing random posts on the RSI forum that it runs well for people on sli. It artifacts like mad for me when i enable sli, but one of my gpus is having issues anyway so im not sure if they are related.

actually you wont be behind.
42 will be delivered before persistent universe so you will be able to finish it before mmo start. they also promised that you will be able to import your ship & equipment from final mission of 42 in PU.

I'm past the 100000 mark, which is dissapointing. I expected the rate for multiplayer to have accelerated a little more than this by now...

18 glorious minutes of 300i Vanduul Swarm in 1440p. Please check it out and let me know how the quality of the video is. I've been messing with different settings in Handbrake. The file on this one started at 48 GB and I encoded it down to about 3 GB.


I'm hoping to get into the MP this weekend or early next week.
 
quality is fine as far as i can see 1440p on my 1080p tv

Well just tried Voice attack, can't get it to do the command I tell it to...
I say "Fire" it says "Firing missle" but won't.

Got to wave 8 with 48200points thats my best out of about 4 tries. my second with the 300i

Soooooo, I've been messing with VoiceAttack(3hrs) and it's.... AWESOME! You must run as ADMIN! took me a while to figure that out. I have most of the normal controls done, some complex ones like moving your power to all weapons, etc. took me a while to figure out some stuff, like moving shields to front, aft, port and starboard. More of a SC issue than VA issue. I plan on buying the full version soon then you can export profiles so your friends can use them(only first 20),
Some of these where based off of Oricard-Profile I've gone in and tweaked them to be a little nicer.

I suggest switching default voice on computer to Microsoft Zira. Go to Control Panel\Ease of Access\Speech Recognition\advanced speech options\text to speech

Yay the recent patch has fixed a few things for me:

  1. No more lighting bug with AMD cards
  2. Greycat is no longer possessed in Deluxe hangar
  3. "Suicides" of vanduul in swarm give me credit for kills if I disabled them
  4. You actually get a score at end of vanduul swarm mode - just did a quick run in my hornet in broken moon and got just over 92,000 when I was most way through wave 12
  5. Launcher doesn't get stuck in "waiting" mode anymore
  6. You get ammunition and missiles reloaded correctly - ammunition at the end of each wave and missiles after the hard elite waves
There are a couple of bugs still - most notable of which are:
  1. 300i's powerplant is waaaaay overpowered so if you're spamming power hungry guns it doesn't hurt (unlike the other ships who lose shield strength if you shoot too much)
  2. Hornet doesn't use fuel if you use the afterburner more than once. First use seems to use fuel but subsequent burns are fuel free so you can play at 200m/s constantly (not advisable near asteroids...)
  3. Hornet side guns are apparently never cooling down if they start to overheat which means if you overheat them then they won't be much use for more than a hundred or so more rounds

Did a little profiling of GPU usage in the DFM - 3506MB dedicated VRAM used on my 290X - glad I have 4GB on the card! I dread to think what it would be if I forced AA or was running at higher than 1200p.

Heat wise my GPU topped out at 89C on the MSI gaming edition (decent cooling) so it looks like this game will really use everything you can throw at it.

looks for the post that says new game will never use more than 4 gigabytes of video RAM, and laughs.
 
Ok here is my updated VoiceAttack profile I'm only exporting enough for people that are on trial mode, you can give it a shot. Will keep updating and making more when I get free time.
The great thing is the profiles are like 110kb with 24commands tiny space.
