IF this game can pull off entertaining, engaging and not overly grindy and reptitive SP gameplay it'll be fine. I want NMS to be successful, I love the positive energy that's been put into it by the dev's and hope it'll reflect on their work. But I'm still not convinced it is worth investing $60 into yet for the very reason that while I don't mind it being SP oriented (I in-fact prefer to have that option), but that I hope there truly is enough of the variation and options for opportunities within the game that it won't go stale after a dozen or so hours of exploring.

I also hope that it is so engaging that should someone get to the center of the universe quickly or not care it, that either way, there's plenty to do and see and get lost in. Might be a tall order, but we'll find out soon enough! Either way, I'm glad to see this finally get released and hope it'll make some waves and be a damn good title worth owning.

If you actually knew him you would realize you are a complete ass because he was not shaming them. He was explaining that the game would set a good atmosphere for children and adults alike with special needs. IIRc this isnt the first time easy has advocated this kind of game. I also believe he had high hopes for "flow" because of this very reason as well.

I don't think it will die, but you do have a good point. I'm sure that at some point, the devs who made this game will eventually make some tools for communication/whatever with other players.
I like the fact that running into someone else will be very rare, I just want to be able to stalk and creep out this person, verbally when I find them. Maybe even teabag their dead corpse if it comes to that.

I am so against this game. Looked all over the internet, many pre-reviews, many thoughts etc . This is the perfect "i have no life and NEVER will" . it's just absolutely horrible.
no man's sky has the potential to turn pokemon go into a 5 star (by comparison). for me wow was the number 1 "have no life and never will" but this will take the crown.
i have been a gamer for so many years ,more than i will ever like to admit, and in all this time i played game that did me good and games that destroyed my life and health.
On the very dark bad say, Lineage 2 - witch completely dwarfs by comparison to No man's sky.
On the bright side. A single player incredible immersive beautifully crafted story (witcher / mass effect) & any quick fun lan multiplayer (CoD WaW natzi zombies / dirt racers)

Almost reminds me of star fox.. The color palette and the overall level of detail seems low.
Just not on par for what I'd expect, from a current game..

Graphics look fine to me. I guess it's a matter of artistic expression. The one thing that puts me off a little is what I saw the NPC's... I reminded me a little of X-Rebirth... Yuck!

I'm definitely keen for NMS. I have preordered and will sink some hours in. As said by others, its exactly the type of game I love. Freelancer was a big one for me so moving into a game with a few more options makes me excited!

Still unlimited space to travel, procedurally generated it's kinda the same base. Difference is having an Avatar to walk around and more developed planetary landings. Those things are in EDs future as well

It may be different judging on people's experiences with ED, but from my experience, NMS looks like a completely different kind of game to the gameplay I've had in ED
