My Stock Cooler is too noisy, what would be a reasonably priced upgrade?

Hi guys, so my cpu cooler(AMD FX-8350) seems to be quite noisy which doesn't help with my music production! It doesn't get overly hot, but I would like something that makes less noise! Can anyone recommend something better than stock that won't break the bank?

Be Quiet coolers are good for acoustics. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Whats your budget?

Scythe Ashura.

@Daryl Gill you can use the "Multi-Quote" button instead of quadruple posting. :)

+1 and get a Second 120mm fan for a push pull config/set up

I have one 212Evo with just 1 fan, it does it's job nicely!
Core temps never above 50C on load.

You will think your ears are broken when you change your cooler, using a 8350 stock fan really is a horrible experience.

U need anything with 4 heatpipe and fan 120 mm

Looks good, happy to spend a bit more if needed
They look decent, the shadow rock is probably a price I would like to pay
Probably £50 max
This also looks good and its a good price
See what I did there?
won't break the bank?
Since you normally get what you pay for, what do you mean by that? Oops. Didn't even read what I quoted. (even though they're over your budget) I'd recommend the Noctua NH-D15, Noctua NH-D15S and, if you can find it, the ThermalRight Le Grand Macho.
It would help to know what case you have as well.

It doesn't block memory slots, Glidestream 140 Fans are Great and quiet, whoever mentioned a TR macho, Another good cooler aswell.

Yeah I don't know if they ever were boxed with wraith coolers lol. I never used my stock unit because I had intent of oc. I'm at 5.0 with this cooler and it doesn't flinch at the temps. Worst case it ran the cpu at 76C and the package hit 83C in Ryzen Blender lol.

cheap option: Hyper 212 Evo,
Moderated option: Corsair H60i, thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer...
High price: Custom waterloop,

as a personal comment, Closed Water coolers are great option for space, quick installation, and pretty easy to install,

Regards,

Thanks for the suggestions, I don't have any problems with temps, it's just the noise. I will go for either the Hyper 212, Scythe Ashura or the Be Quiet shadow rock 2... Thanks again and sorry for the quadruple posting, the multi-quote button confused me haha!

hit multiple quote on each answer here then hit insert quotes.

It boils down to price at this point then.

Shadow rock should do fine as long as you aren't planning on overclocking. Seems it is about 40 pound sterling atm.

Cryorig H7
Cryorig M9i/a (i for intel) (a for AMD)
H5 Universal

depends on price and memory modules etc

But H5 Universal would be my pick
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF1W87430
Above average performance
Exceptional memory clearance,
Exceptional build quality
low noise output.

Bare minimum is fine however the old CM Hyper 212/ EVO / X is just plan old it is rivaled by smaller units like the CRYORIG M9i which is dirt cheap smaller and quieter when CMs 120mm based coolers are only competing with say a 92mm based tiny cooler thats cheaper and quieter it means it is time to stop flogging the 212. Its no longer best in class or best in price. The Be Quiet Pure Rock is another solid option if the price is right.

Good taste

just giving prices even though in US dollars and he is using the GBP- which should turn out to be less in their currency than what I have posted.

Prices have gone up since the pound revalued. I'm a little smug I bought my rig just before the event.

H 7 is impossible to find in the UK

H5 is £ 55.00 ($ 70.00) vs $ 46.99

M9a...30 quid ( $38.00) here..... 20 bucks for you

we pay significantly more for tech than you do

My last post was a reply to CAP's last post. Not sure how I managed to reply before I posted .
