Any chance we can stop the FUD news posting about ryzen/Intel?

It's honestly starting to get embarrassing. We have less than a week for reviews I see no reason why there should be more "alternative facts" posted for no reason other than their clickbait titles.

+1 getting real sick about AMDcraps and "Leaks"
Gossips and leaks are for bitches....
my two cents...

You are on a tech news site.

It is our job to bring the rumors to you to an extent, at least the somewhat credible ones. Otherwise things would get very quiet and be 90% PR posts.

The forums though? I'm with you. Out there be dragons...

There's something to be said for propagating rumors...
some just want the clicks...that runs the business which keep the lights on. :)

Nothing you can do about what people say in the forums...

Come on we are using Wccf as a source for things... May as well go direct to random Chinese pages.

This a tech page and considered by many to be one of the premier pages to visit free of biased news/reviews.

I would hate to see that blemished by fake news as the media calls it now.

More editorials please :D

(Sorry, but they have been pretty much spot on)

(again, sorry but there is no such thing in media anymore. It's a pipe dream)

(This why there are disclaimers)

I have never been so excited about a product im not going to buy.

But it's also your job to try and filter out the FUD and not add a bunch of personal opinions, which sadly hasn't been the case.

Well, when someone has got nothing else better going on in their lives, they gotta hold onto something. Let them hump on fake news.

Poor lads.

I think the single core Intel threads under LN are a waste of space, but I have never asked for them NOT to be posted. Plus whats new about their hardware, they bumped the clock speed and gave it a new name.... so we should stop posting about Intel.

Nvidia refined the process and upped the clock speed for the 1xxx series, so nothing revolutionary for all gamers, lets stop posting about them. AMD doesn't have a competitor to the 1080, lets stop posting about them, hell lets just stop doing reviews as we all know for a fact Nvidia and Intel are faster, their drivers are better, and they help you have a bigger penis and get laid so much you have no time to play games.

Both of those examples are real things that actually happened in the real world not FUD posting off of third rate web pages.

I don't see the problem. If it's something I don't want to read, then I don't read ito_O

There have been TPU hype threads about new products for years why stop now I really don't see the problem.
Its not like misleading benchmarks and overstated insider claims are anything new either.

i know what u mean... but the solution is easy... don't read the news&posts and most important don't get involved in those threads....

Wccf announced these chips would do 5ghz on air if I am not mistaken. I'll let you in on a little hint, not with what's hitting retail floors.

QFT

Nothing to add myself, that sums it up succinctly.

The problem is that there are a bunch of random rumours going around with a lot of incorrect information and it's being presented as facts. That is a problem in the tech community just as much as it is when it comes to headline news. Everything is about sensationalism these days, rather than presenting proper, researched facts.

One piece that really got me frustrated here was the post about the X370 being the only chipset supporting SLI. I thought this was fairly obvious, as on Intel's side, only the Z270 (ok, X99 as well), supports SLI out of its multitude of consumer chipsets, so why anyone expected the B350 to support SLI is beyond me. Even more so when AMD stated quite early that only the X370 chipset supports dual x8 configuration of the PCIe slots. Nvidia doesn't supports 16/4 like AMD does for CrossFire.

On top of that, the article went on to spread a bunch of FUD from ComputerBase with regards to the other chipset features. They mixed up things and they're not the only ones that apparently are unable to read the specs correctly. Admittedly AMD hasn't made it easy either and with the board makers not being clear on top of that, it can be confusing. This is where TPU needs to step in and present clear facts, or nothing at all imho, rather than borrow some badly researched information and post it as facts.

Yes, and I do my best there at least for my part. I'd like to think we all do.

and not add a bunch of personal opinions, which sadly hasn't been the case.

In non-editorial sections, true. But we mark our editorials prettt clearly and that is standard news practice.

The issue seems to mainly be the new guy, Ravenlord. He's got a hard time differentiating between facts, rumours and his own opinion. He's overly excited about Ryzen and seems to write up anything that sort of seems news worth, then adds way too much fan boy opinion to it. This is not good for the image of TPU.

It's not just for tech community. "News" as whole is suffering from this.

I'm the new guy here, actually. :p

Simple Answer
Pull him in those threads that you feel where he is failing to differentiating between facts, rumours and his own opinion
also tag a Supermod/message a supermod with your "OPINION"

I'm the new guy here, actually. :p

we are aware and are also aware of the Voodoo Practices of Frogs :):lovetpu:
