I put refurbished in quotes for a reason. I bought 6 of these drives, not a single one was marked refurbished, none had that ugly green sticker that Seagate puts n their refurbished dives either. I'm pretty sure these are new-old stock drives that newegg is just trying to get rid of.
Now, the good and bad of these dives. They are enterprise drives, they are designed for RAID arrays(but work as a single drive just fine). They also have pretty good performance, they are tuned for performance, not silence. That means these drives are loud. That is the bad. You can definitely hear them when they spin up, and you can hear the heads moving when you access the drive.
