Forget the specialised media. Every. Major.News Outlet. around the world is talking about that disaster. That's all that matters. I already knew several months ago I wanted to a wait a few months for patches and a $20+ price drop, as that is how I do all my games now in last couple years. If you are having fun though, that is all that matters. ^^ Enjoy

Same here.
I am going through the Side Quests and Gigs.
I got to the point where if I entered a certain door, my ability to finish those would end.
So I didn't enter that door and will continue to do these side missions/gigs/etc. for a while until I am no longer enjoying them.
Then I will complete the Main Missions.

(It's precisely because I'm enjoying the game that I'm mad at everything that happened. What's the expression again ? "pearl to a swine ? You got something awesome under the hood, but you are so out of touch, that you don't even realise what must be done to get the full potential out of it.)

nothing against more, aside co-op.... uhhhhhhh .... it's a pure solo game with a stone set story with an ending that is a definitive ending about a main protagonist who you only decide gender, starting origin/mission and basic look... imagine a TW3 with a dozen of Geralt of Rivia? not much sense ... ( well if there was a TW game with Letho of Gulet as P2 co-op ... maybe ... but only if it's in the game since the start)

unless made correctly, aka one player V and all the other player are either "ventriloquist npc" (joke)"fixer", "animals, tyger and mael" "ncpd, MaxTac, random vegetable" i can't see any fun in it... and nope i do not really like co-op in a strong story driven game (imho main reason why FFXV "MP" part failed)

bah, luckily it will be optional if implemented ... (most likely a co-op "a la mass effect" with better implementation i hope, for those who await it )

It's weirder to me how many people can't handle two separate observations without imploding. Or really, just funny. "Weird" implies there's something exotic. Like there's something new about it. But lets be real, none of this is new. Super entertaining though.

Maybe I just say this because I've been in an abusive relationship with Skyrim and Fallout for a few years. I can write 10 paragraphs telling you everything wrong about them any day. Give me 6 months and I'll have a book. But if you add up the time that I have put in modding them to perfection, breaking down every aspect of the meta, stringing together all of the lore... yeah... ballpark of 3000 hours just going by what CAN be logged, sooo...

What's that thing people always say about their jobs? "Love the game, hate the company."

This is exactly why I mostly avoided all of the hype material. It never pans out. I look at it and assume it's just a bunch of bullshit, kinda knowing I can't actually know what the experience will really be like. So whatever is good is actually a nice surprise.

Expanding on your explination, I think the word "hype" is over used and mostly not even in the right context; as it seems people get "hyped" about a specific facet of "a/the" game. I don't think I was let down by the game because I was excited for the "game" I did not focus on the anticipation of "character creation", "cars", "cyberware" its when you dive into specifics I feel you expand the surface area in which you can be hit with dissapointment.

IF anything I am more dissapointed, this thread turned into more links and screen shots of media outlets bashing it than any actual gameplay. I was interested in what people did with the game first hand.

If I wanted someones BS opinion on it, id go read metacritic or some other toxic outlet filled with nobodys like the steam/gog rating systems.

That's fair. FWIW there are a whole lot of things I think could be much better. The kind of stuff that can't be conveyed in marketing one way or another. The game has nitty-gritty problems, beyond simple bug fixes. Various mechanics need a lot of refining, too. It's a bummer, because we all know they can do better.

Guilty as charged. But I might add that you can't expect less, given the level of anticipation and... what ultimately came of it. It's the hot thing to do right now. That will fade eventually and the only people left caring about the game will be the ones still playing it. But right now it's one of those things you kinda can't avoid. I think it will run its course soon enough. Sometimes I think it's just been such a shitty year, people are almost itching for something else to dial-in on... something lower stakes in their own lives. And this was it.

Gimme some time and I'll have something more interesting to say about builds.

My Christmas ducks are lined up and I'm officially on vacation. Right now I'm playing a katana/mantis character with no body spec, reflex as primary, and cool as secondary. No hacking, stealth, tech, crafting. Only times I'll take specs in those is if I see a cybernetic that benefits my build and I need the spec to use it. Otherwise, just pure speed, armor buffs, and crit boosts. Stacked AND chained buffs all around. The idea is to surge into groups out of nowhere and massacre anybody. Be so quick I can literally b-line from one end of the city to the other on foot, wrecking any unfortunate baddies in my path in a matter of seconds and never getting hit.

Shouldn't work but I think it actually is working already, at level 12. Plan on trying lotsa weird stuff that will probably require spoiler tags. Rather talk about that than anything to do with the media frenzy, but it'll take many more hours playing to put my money where my mouth is.

Me too. Thanks for this. This should be a place for people to share their gameplay and trade stories, etc, share their tips and experience. The arguments about this or that review or news article are not about the essence, which is a game to be enjoyed.

I almost never buy SP games at full price I wait until its like 4 years old, all bugs fixed, $5-10 bargain bin price, all dlc included.

i fully intend to do so and boy i do enjoy CP2077 fully and love it, as some mentioned including streamers : it will get better (or at last we all hope) with time passing and i trust CDPR to correct their mistake and give us a good ride (on a CX-3T preferably ) and if not ... well, i will be a bit disappointed, to say the least, but i still love the game as it is now, it meet my standard and they aren't low.

Here Here I'm also lovin the game and hope it'll get better as time goes on. I've had very few bugs so far in 30+hrs of play perf could have been a little better though I would hate to have tried playing on the lower end specs they advertised for min that being said I've had little to no massive slow downs even in huge fight scenes it's been pretty playable.
A few more patches and some DLC's and I think I'd be completely happy to replay this game for the next 12 months easily

Just played a few hours - ran great. Stealth is quite fun - early game + silenced revolver allows you to one tap people even on hardest difficulty. DLSS kind of mandatory to maintain reasonable frames at "4k"... I find DLSS Auto + Sharpen filter from GFE makes the game look really good.

Cant figure out what the deal is with the sniper scopes though. There doesn't seem to be any in the first act at least.

Has anyone tried nanowire yet?

Don't get fooled, no matter what I might post here, I have a massive amount of screenshot and video waiting to be shared. But Most of them need a spoiler tag .

But I can say that as French Caribbean hearing the Voodoo Boys speak créole was insane...(It's haitian créole, but it's really similar to guadeloupean créole) I don't think there's any other game of that caliber that even bothered with showcasing the carribean culture other than a few jamaican cliché.

Agreed. There is a ton of little details and nuance to this game people are not appreciating. It's really kind of sad.
