Agreed. There is a ton of little details and nuance to this game people are not appreciating. It's really kind of sad.

And sadly, that's why I decided to put off playing for a bit. I was spending more time trying to figure out if something just broke, and reloading in attempt to fix some broken quests and main storyline than I was enjoying the game.

I'm really looking forward to spending some time once things are patched up a bit. Even in its current state, it's pulled me in more than a game has in a long time.

Whelp, frame rate boosts on 1.05 are real for me. Wasn't too bad before, but now, it's over 100 at all times. As high as 130. FHD, running mostly medium, of course, but not bad for a 2060. Enjoying that extra smoothness, and the game still looks great.

I am so here for the characters, clothing, and accessories. That might've been one of the first "Yaaaasssss sogood!" moments for me.

Of course I'm on PC. I haven't had a single crash, or any issues with performance. I just haven't had a quest that went all the way through without something that went wrong.

I've encountered problems like NPCs (Jackie) missing from the scene, but still his voice is still there and objects that he's supposed to be interacting with continue on as if he's there, or the game getting stuck in 'Scan' mode. Simple things like the quest to pick up a daemon that T-Bug left just broke right in the middle.

I'm super happy that people can enjoy the game with these type of bugs. For me, they're too much of a distraction from what the game has to offer. As I said previously, I'd rather enjoy the game than spend time troubleshooting. YMMV.

I had the odd issue of Jackie’s corpse clipping the car top until he ended up laying on top of the car. Seemed to be a physics issue with the car.

I wonder why there's such a big difference?

From what I understand 1.05 fixes a ton of glitches. Have only seen a few and they didn't bother me. Have had a busy day and haven't had a chance to install the patch yet.

No. The patch enables SMT only for AMD CPUs with less than 8 cores. AMD worked with the cyberpunk devs to implement it this way as no gains are seen from SMT above 6 core CPUs.

You should see a performance improvement if you have a 6-core or quad core AMD CPU that supports SMT.

Curious to see if that actually tests out, and if Intel CPUs are treated similarly.

This game just looks nice IMO. Maybe this area reminds me of southern Arizona and that's why I like it.

Unfortunately, I seem to be getting more crashes on 1.05 than I did on 1.04 with v1.0.2 of the performance mod. Performance is still mediocre.

I've disabled my GPU OC, reset the power and temp limits to default, and even dialed back my CPU undervolt.

I caught my GPU overclock on top of the factory OC caused strange flickers in the game with lighting. The OC on the GDDR6 +875 MHz seems fine though.

Actually just looked in the log for the performance mod and a bunch of fixes failed. Maybe I need to wait for them to figure out what changed in this update.

If those "fixes" are fixing something that had no actual impact on performance it's no wonder they have failed on 1.05. For instance, that .csv file was completely removed from 1.05.

Over 20 hours in, and I’m loving it, last night was my longest session, baby was in bed, and so was the wife, got my headset, turned off the lights, and played 5 hours straight, it was nirvana.

Have you ever reached a point in a game where it clicks? Everything falls into place, you start caring about the plot and the characters, start going deeper into the different weapon systems, and become a badass mowing enemies down or sneaking your way by any means available. That’s what happened to me last night.

If you look past a few bugs, this is a masterpiece in hiding, in need of a bit more polish (no pun intended), I knew I would not be disappointed, what with this game being developed by the same people who created one of my favorite games, the witcher 3.

I hope more people are able to experience it the way it should be, right now the attitude from most people is “you can’t polish a turd” but to me, this game is a diamond in the rough, given time and a bit of tlc from its developers, it will shine, and my hope is, once they iron out the most glaring bugs on consoles, millions other people will get to enjoy the ride.

That actually explains a lot about where characters and NPCs keep all of the stuff they're carrying. Not even that far off for this universe.

Ok, this house is still not having any problems worth reporting. In fact we saw a slight(but measurable) increase in performance.

Cyberpunk before bed, Cyberpunk in the morning.

I'm pretty sold on the actual 'cyberpunk' aspect of this. It's interesting that this is where we are now, in fiction. I mean, cyberpunk as a whole has been around since the 80's - the game this one is based off of is a classic in its own right. But back then, it was a cult thing. It would sort of hang on the outskirts, until computer technology hit the wider markets and became a part of our lives. We tried VR for the first time ever. PC's became commonplace in homes and workplaces. Our world very rapidly became more digitized, more automated. And as we transitioned into this era of transistors and printed circuit boards, suddenly people got a lot more interested in cyberpunk works. It seems like it only continues to grow as our own technology, cities, and societies harken to them increasingly more. Are we imitating it, or is it imitating us?

It's really something. Originally, cyberpunk was a bastardized form of sci-fi. Stuff that could never really be possible, stuff that subverted a lot of the common beats. Heavily embellished and fantastical pictures of a future reality, blown up in such a way as to ask greater philosophical questions about what it means to be a person, and what this whole world we're constantly building is really for. Now, we look at the nicer parts of the aesthetic and say "This is what the future looks like." When we want to make products look modern, we borrow from that aesthetic. But what about the darker side? The 'punk' side.

What I'm getting at is... it's become more accessible now. This isn't a fringe genre. It's a staple in many areas of fiction. The look is something that droves of people absolutely adore and turn out for. Perhaps because it is now so prevalent, even in our daily lives, as to be instantly appealing and relatable. We see huge bits of our world in it, in Cyberpunk 2077's world. But I wonder if it isn't also speaking to our fears about the future on a more visceral level than it may have for people encountering it for the first time, in the 80s. As life catches up with art, suddenly people become more interested in that art.

What's most striking to me about the visuals of CP2077 is how it STILL looks exactly like what people in the 80s imagined an alternate future looks like, but now has that unmistakable familiarity to it. As time goes on, it takes on new layers of meaning. I can see so many pieces of our present in it that at times, it doesn't even seem like it couldn't appear within my lifetime. As fantastical as ever, but maybe closer to truth than previously envisioned... and maybe that's a part of what makes this side of fiction more compelling than it has ever been these days...

If those "fixes" are fixing something that had no actual impact on performance it's no wonder they have failed on 1.05. For instance, that .csv file was completely removed from 1.05.
Apparently, the mod wasn't even changing that file. It was changing the memory pool parameters during runtime, so it could actually have an impact on performance.

The latest version also added a skip for the legal messages and nonsense, which is great.
