Nvidia 8500/8600 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

ok, if you whanna come to our ''club'' we need to know what brand card you have and write please your cards frequences too :) :toast:

If you were referring to me HeUeR, I just wanted to submit an 8600gt score for this thread. But I would like very much to join the club! Ok, I have two PNY 8600gt's. Got them from best buy. I run them in my Opty 170 rig but they have been idle for awhile. The 3DMark03 screenie is from a single card. The specs are 540MHz Core Clock & 1190MHz Shader Clock. IMO, the PNY 8600GT could be one of the weakest 8600GT available.

Paulieg your score updated !

hehe dont have time for OC, now i playing Project Entropia :toast::rolleyes:

It doesn't show as updated.....:wtf:

X2 @3009MHz GPU @612MHz x 712.80MHz = 15340032.jpg

what nvidia application do you have running on the right?

When you OC your core, your shaders automatically OC themselves to some funky ratio. However you'll find that you can max out your core and your shaders laugh at it in disgust.

//I NEVER use software to OC ANYTHING. My card is oc'd via BIOS... I did temporarialy OC with ntune, but when I found some nice comfy clocks I BIOS flashed it.

Can I Torch This Club?
Please? :)

-=l32andon=- - how can you run the cards in SLI of i see you dont have SLI Bridge! :wtf:

"I run them in my Opty 170 rig but they have been idle for awhile." The whole rig has been idled for awhile. I got the bridge sitting on my shelf.

New System Build

Hay Guys,
Just Built my new System See Left menu for details, I have the gigabyte 8600gt with passive cooling and lovin it. Even though this is my 3rd system that i have built over the years, it is the first that i want to OC. So here is my question what Temps are good for for the GPU or should i say safe right now i have not OC and like i said the cards have Heatpipe Tech on them and factory settings are as follows Core 600Mhz and Memory 720Mhz running at 40C to 45C with my nForce at 55C to 68C ? And i am getting some good (well i think) benchmarks. Second i was thinking about adding them to my Water cooling loop before i OC if i need to keep temps down does anyone know will the water blocks for the 8800gts work on these cards i cant see much difference between the the two cards but what the hell do i know.... i put my pre-OC benchmark scores in my sig hope it shows up, Cheers guys :respect:

LOL, there is no way in hell your system got 7814 in 3dmark06...not possible. Good effort though. Take a look at my system stats, and I can't get close to that score. Please post screenshots of your benchmarks. You may want to check with the manufacture of the water block to make sure it is compatible. You certainly don't want to get it wrong when using WC.

Gigabyte 8600gt 256mb DDR3 SLI

Then it really doesn't make sense, since he only got 113,000 in AM3........confused???

It's interesting though, he beat me by 600 in 3dmark06, and I pounded his AM3 score by 60,000 pts....WTF?

I assure you these are true benchmarks and as soon as i figure out how to post pics in this forum i will, and yes i am running 2 8600gt in SLI as both of these cards cost me less than one 8800ultra which was the other option i was thinking about. $400 Australian versus $900 to $1000 plus for one, hopefully next year if the price drops i would still like to get 2 of them. when i first put the system togeather i ran 3DMark06 with only one card and got a score of around 4500 give or take cant be exact though it was a month ago. Cheers guys

I'm just suprised at the 3dmark06 score, when the AM3 was quite low. I do believe you though, since you have 2 in SLI. I didn't see that at first. My bad.
