no, with standart cooling and standart Volts, some days later i think i create Vmod :):toast:

Paradox, i think you score is very low because the problem to you PC is CPU ! I have lower Mhz to Core and Mem but i get higher results !

I know, just replaced it with a e6300@3.2ghz Sold the card awhile back though, bought this
2600XT and have not looked back...

I had 1.7v going into the core and 2.5v into the memory, aye, voltmoded.

3DMark06: 5596 3DMarks
MSI 8600GT (Model# NX8600GT-T2D256EZ)
Stock: 540/700/1400
Overclock: 660/850/1800 (Flashed a custom BIOS)
Temps: 39C Idle/51C Load
CPU: Intel E6300 (Running at 2097.91mhz using SetFSB because of mobo limitations)

I tried volt modding the card with VRs and it failed...miserably and almost killed the card. I have the card back to the Overclock settings, but now there are little yellow dots when I check for artifacts no matter what I have the clocks set too. ATITool doesn't pick them up as artifacts though.

EDIT: I raised the video clocks as well as the CPU clocks.

My final clocks are 667/866/1100 via BIOS flash.

ok I got a new motherboard and that helped out A LOT!!!!!! I think before I overclocked it bogged down.. Now its effective! My 3dmark05 went to 11,000 now and my aquamark3 didn't go up much but, still did to 101,000
1 more question whats the easiest way to do screenshots? I do them but, never the easy way. I print screen open up microsoft word, save as web page.. open web page and rick click picture and save as the name I want. in games all I do is use fraps and hit f10 and its fine.. any easy way while on the desktop?

click printscreen
open paint
paste
cut (if needed)
save

Noob asking for help

Hi, ive just purchased a Gigabyte Geforce 8600GT (GV-NX86T256H) and ive installed Ntune and see that the stock frequencies are at 600/720.

Can someone plz advise me what safe frequencies i can bump the above to? (ie. without any special cooling equipment etc, just purely using the stock fan the card came with)

thank you very much in advance

Stock cooling is fine as long as you don't overvolt. You'll have to determine the clocks for yourself as no 2 cards are different. Do it one part at a time. Clock the core until it's unstable, back it down by 5MHz until it is stable again. Then back it down 10MHz. Same for mem. Find a nice comfortable number.

Noob again

sorry for asking stupid questoins... how will i keep track of the stability.... by looking at the temp?

also how high should i slide them before starting to back them down again? (i.e 600 to +/-650 and 720 to +/-840 ?)

run 3dmark05 a couple times and watch for artifacts

XFX 8600 GT Extreme ZM 600M SLi

wrote my own bios as following: Core: 700 Shader: 1836 Memory: 1800

much better performance than stock shader multi at 750 core, which was 750/1540, it seems the shaders make a huge difference.

im planning a vmod very soon to get 800+ on the core and 2ghz+ on the shaders

scores 10,775 06' 3dmarks in SLi, 6,682 in sinlge card mode, and 320fps in Lightsmark2007

pics to back up 3dmark scores if u want em.
