Using RX 460 for few days as I'll let the thermal glue dry for few days for the VRM/VRAM heatsinks on my RX 6700 XT.

I like that little case. Looks good!

I have a little Strix ITX board that I want to stick into a case just like that one..

cheers mate, from building PC,s in mid/large towers all these years then going to small ,oh my goodness it was a PITA to build haha, i learnt alot, everything has to go in order (1 way only), you make a mistake you have to take it all out again...i did that like 4 times, the mobo fans were the most painful.

That's a sweet setup!

Got rid of some of the rainbow light show..
Tasting the rainbow can be fun, but it does get old...

But isn't RGB great as you can change the color scheme when you get bored to one theme. Though on keyboards, I like the simple rolling RGB scheme :toast:

Yessir..

Not long ago I mocked the rainbow, then I embraced it, and now I am slowly rejecting it again :D

While true, controls are not universal. I'd rather shut it off if it's not dead simple to control.
Good point. Though I'd do my research before putting up a disco PC

And yeaah, done that mistake before, not gonna lie here..

how to you game at 4k with a 6700 xt? older titles?

Nah, even newer ones. I just balance the settings that games run at stable 60fps. Also FSR quality is my friend. The most modern game I finished at 4K was RE4 remake.

And I have a freesync monitor so it helps as well.

i thought you need 4090 run games at 4k, atleast in case of ultra settings

will fix that pipe, but i ran out of energy last night..

nice custom loop.

not really. This is how the 6700 XT and other GPUs compare on 1080p, 1440p and 4k at the highest quality setting: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-radeon-rx-6700-xt-strix-oc/28.html

With a mix of lower settings (mid/high/ultra) this card will handle even the most graphics-intense newer titles at 4K.

The 4090 is definitely not a necessary function for 4K but more of a luxury - being its the fastest currently available gaming card. You'd be surprised, my second rig carries a 1080 ti which i occasionally hook up to our 4K 60hz capped TV - runs anything i throw at it like a BEAST (mid-high settings)!!

I started PC gaming with playing at 1024x768 low 20-30fps so playing at 4K with med-high settings without RT (except in RE games, they dont tax too much) with FSR quality on, yeah, 6700 XT OC does the trick.

kind of a similar story, i didn't have a great first pc either.

My first PC was built using a Celeron 1.7 GHz (Willamette-128), 128 MB RAM, 20 GB Maxtor HDD and a GeForce 2 MX400 with 64 MB VRAM! My mom bought it in the spring of 2003.
Should have gone for the Athlon XP 1700+ and the extra 128 MB RAM instead of that 56 kbps modem + 1 month of free "Internet access". It took 8 hours to download the demo version of AvP 2.
Now, I have a dust magnet! Keeps the house nice and clean by absorbing all the dust!
