They just ignored what happened with CP2077 and others like that that shipped way before ripeness.

Nah, if anything CP2077 was a success. Why bother optimizing a game and getting it ready when you can just launch it in an unfinished state? All major retailers accepted refunds for CP2077 and yet a very tiny percentage of players returned it. FM is a first party title as well so 0% chance of it getting taken down from digital stores like Cyberpunk was. Not to mention all of the people praising CDPR now for finally fixing a game that came out 3 years ago (and still lacks a lot of advertised features)

I'm gonna finish my Wheel rant with how ridiculous Turn 10 when it comes to wheels....FM is even WORSE than Horizons at least it gives the "button numbers" FM JUST shows keyboard inputs...Absolutely knows exactly what wheel it is on an "Xbox Game" this is what I get compounded with the KB inputs...

It just boggles the mind that an MS First party title can't even be bothered to do "proper mapping" I mean I pretty used to it alot of other games I play are like that to the point I have memorized most of the numbers but they got even lazier and don't even acknowledge the wheel as the main input device making navigation of menus as difficult as possible let alone in races as well....

Now that I've played a few hours, the practice before a race is now just a pain in the rear. I know it can be skipped but you have to start a practice lap and then exit to cancel it. That's just dumb.
I've had five crashes when making graphics changes and I was hoping that the career mode would be similar to FM7 which was a simple progression tree, although I've yet to complete the endurance races in that game.

I enjoy the racing but the game isn't up to the standards that I was expecting and the spectators are still out to lunch!

Runs good on my machine as long as i dont race on certain tracks (it will crash on a couple tracks)

Hvnt tweaked any settings except FSR Quality

Edit: disabled FSR and it went from 103FPS to 100FPS.. Guess it doesnt do much so ill leave it off lol

I drove the stock MX5 in motorsport, then went to horizon and the stock MX5 turned a lot better in horizon.

That’s probably due to FH being an arcade style racer with something like 300% grip versus the standard (and more realistic) forza physics. That poor Miata was never taking a sweeping right at 130mph

Overall reviews seem pretty painful this time around. Was hoping for more, something closer to GT7 in realism. Maybe Sony will bring the GT series to PC some day

I noticed DLSS was set to Auto in my screen.. whoops.

I dunno.. the game could use a little work, but so far so good, runs great.

I noticed a big FPS improvement when I set Radeon Enhanced Sync to ON and many of the other in game graphics settings to low. The visual differences are barely noticeable, but the performance has improved dramatically to an average of 75-85fps with fps set to un limited.
And although I can hear the cheering crowds, they must be ghosts, because the stands are bereft of human occupants

I like horizon more. I played this for a few minutes. The graphics look washed out on max settings nothing exciting.

They look good on a big oled but Turn 10 did go with an odd color temp for the lighting. To be fair though to my eyes everything looks washed out on an IPS these days.

Although if you go by the numbers this game randomly spits out the 7800X3D is 50% faster at CPU simulation than the 7900X3D on average lol. Even though there is an artificial wall around 110-120fps with the best CPU's due to the game being heavily ST limited.

Interesting. I see as high as 147 FPS when Gaming. The only track I had an issue with was Monterrey that for some reason had a 60 FPS lock. For me this Game is butter smooth at 4K.

Moving through the Builder's Cup in career mode, the unlocked stages make you buy a new car. Was that the case in FM7? I can't remember.

Setting menu sucks ass and you have to do a full restart for them to actually stick and then double check them.

I feel for anyone professionally benchmarking this game.

Anyone else feel like the stock versions of cars are worse than they should be (or some are)?
That Mustang GT felt like a bathtub riding on plastic skates, didn't feel more natural until somewhere around 6-10-ish.

For better or worse I feel like they went with an RPG approach with the cars likely for progression reasons making the cars feel better over time.

Yea...I really don't like that, and I hope they address it in some form with an update.
I've always enjoyed keeping a vanilla version of a car around, or at least seeing what it was meant to be like first.

Beast mode. Although the game looks best maxed out with RT I mean even the Xbox Series X uses RT

The cpu numbers are likely BS or based on some arbitrary number not based on reality.

Yeah, I'm hoping they get the game settings/image quality figured out. Even comparing the benchmark scene to FH5, its like they're not even trying on motorsport.

I'll play with gamepass for now, and then probably pick up on Steam later on when it's on sale and grab the premium edition and start over (unless they change it to allow progress on gamepass to transfer to Steam).

That is exactly what I am doing. One thing I liked about 7 was the amount of tracks that were not in other Games like Sebring and VIR.
