Hi im having problems of my pc locking at 0.78 Gz. solved it by turning bd prochot off but most off my games are running really bad and AMd program marking the working as marginal or bad performance.
Gigabyte z390 UD
i5 9600k
RX 6700
16gb ram
With this my games should perfomance well as test says but i cannot play anything like pubg or tarkov cause my game freeze or it just have low FPS.
Any helps will be grateful.

Attach a ThrottleStop log file while playing a game and post some screenshots of ThrottleStop so I can see your settings.

or it just have low FPS
It might be your GPU that is throttling.

if you tell me how to attach it i will do it
There should be a button you can click on to attach log files.

Your ThrottleStop screenshot only shows 4 cores. Intel says the 9600K should have 6 cores so a couple of your cores are probably disabled and are not being used.

Did you previously have a different CPU in this computer and then upgrade it to a 9600K? If you did this then you need to run msconfig.

1701130457862.png

Click on the Boot tab, press the Advanced options... button and make sure the Number of processors: box is not checked. Press OK and reboot your computer. Open the Task Manager after you do this. The Task Manager Performance tab should report 6 Cores and 6 Logical processors. The ThrottleStop monitoring table should show 6 lines of data, not 4.

When your computer is idle at the desktop with only ThrottleStop open, what does ThrottleStop report for C0% on the main screen? This should be less than 1%. If you have a lot of junk running in the background on your computer, games are not going to run smoothly. Open the Task Manager, go to the Details tab and find out if there is anything running on your computer that does not need to be running. Having 6 available cores instead of 4 should help out quite a bit. Getting rid of background sludge will help out some more. Attach a new log file after you fix this.

https://gyazo.com/dd258ebb485d69c5ed149ce78018b033 Thanks now it changed to 6 cores. Its the 1st processor to run this pc and new motherboard.
Looking at the c0 it doesnt get below 1 and at the boot it goes to 70 40 9 per cent. It doesnt get below 1.4 whjile writting right now. Already get off lot of aplication of the background but doesnt know how to get it lower. Running discord steam throttle stop chrome and logitech app right know.

i mean how to get the log file while playing sir.

Check the Log File box on the main screen of ThrottleStop before you start playing. When finished testing, exit ThrottleStop and the log file will be in the ThrottleStop / Logs folder.

Did unlocking two cores help? I assume you have been using a crippled computer for quite a while.

1.4 in C0 with Discord running is reasonable. That is better than the first screenshots you posted.

the game works fine now, it helped a lot but a bit laggy not much is playable now atleast. If anything that i can do for a better performance would be appreciated thanks so much

In the FIVR window you have set all of the turbo ratios to 41. Why? You are telling your CPU to run slower than its rated speed. Your temperatures are great so there is no reason to be doing this. I would push the Defaults button in the FIVR window which should set the turbo ratios to their default values. That might help a little bit. A 43 multi vs a 41 multi is a +5% boost in speed.

The log file shows C0% mostly in the high 90% to 100% range while playing. This means your 6 core CPU is fully loaded. You need more cores and more threads for smooth gaming. A 9700K might help a little and a 9900K should help a lot more. The 9900K has 8 cores plus hyper threading for a total of 16 threads. Unfortunately used Intel CPUs are not cheap. Most people are better off selling what they have and then building a new computer with a new motherboard and a new CPU. Start saving up for your next upgrade.

the game works fine now, it helped a lot
That is always good to hear.

Edit - I just remembered that you have an unlocked K series processor. In the FIVR window check the Overclock box and try running All Cores at the 46 or 47 multiplier.

This should help smooth out your games. Check the MMIO Lock box in the TPL window when overclocking.

Use ThrottleStop 9.6 and check the Windows Defender Boost box in the Options window.

Put all the cores at 46 and locked the MMIO gonna try it. Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.
You are welcome. I enjoy seeing a success story slowly progress. Run another log file with your new settings.

A previous screenshot you posted showed IccMax was set to a very low value. IccMax for the core and the cache should be set to the max which is 255.75 for your CPU. Post another round of screenshots when you are done so anyone following this story can see what settings work well for a 9600K.

I like checking the Speed Shift box in the TPL window and I recommend using the Windows High Performance power plan to reduce any latency when gaming.

It seems fps dont get higher but its no freezing and it being fluid now. I cannot change the cache its doesnt let me change it.

A faster CPU means it is less likely to get overloaded compared to before. There should be fewer times when the FPS suddenly drops significantly. The C0% in the log file was reaching 100% before. You should see lower C0% now which shows the CPU is not so overloaded.

You can try setting all cores to the 47 or 48 multiplier.

Already downloaded 9.6 and checked the windows defender boost. Put all the cores at 47. I will try everything later and send all the logs files sir. The problem to solve now is the c0% and better FPS seems. Thanks so much. By the way i cannot change the cache.

Show me a picture of the entire FIVR window when CPU Cache is selected.

Your temperatures are pretty decent - and since it's a desktop - switch to High Performance power plan while gaming. That should disable some power saving feature (throttling too) - and it's also known to help with latency.

@rhidox

You have your Cache Ratio request set to 43 in ThrottleStop and the monitoring table in the top right corner of the FIVR window shows your Cache Ratio is 43. Your cache is running at the speed you are telling it to run at.

What sort of cache problem are you having? Most similar Intel CPUs run stable when the cache multiplier is 3 or 4 less than the core multiplier. 47 for the core and 43 for the cache is perfect. Checking the Ring Down Bin box forces the CPU cache to run 300 MHz slower than the core. I highly recommend leaving this box checked. It improves stability.

In the FIVR window if you are trying to run the 47 multiplier on all cores, that is considered overclocking. You should check the Overclock box in the FIVR window.

Would you mind elaborating on what this Overclocking check-box does? I am realizing I have never used it on my laptop. With a 12900K desktop is it beneficial? I'm 5.2 P all-core, 40 E, 45 Ring.

I have never done any hands on ThrottleStop testing on any 12th Gen or newer CPUs with P and E cores. I do not know what unlocked K series CPUs need to have this box checked when overclocking.

I always recommend checking the Overclock box whenever trying to run a multiplier higher than the ThrottleStop listed default multipliers. This might not always be necessary. This might be required when using some motherboards but not others. It is a mystery setting. It should do no harm when checked.

https://gyazo.com/861ba9ec7ae0992a0eabf114f2d3ccd5 Ok this is should be the last setup to try right? Unlocking ring down bin and locking overclock windows.

Unlocking ring down bin
What are you trying to accomplish? Clearing the Ring Down Bin check box can cause less stability which means more blue screens. Are you trying to run the cache at the same speed as the core? This might work OK on your CPU but on most CPUs, it requires a lot of extra voltage to try and get this stable. The cache running 100 MHz faster does not improve real world performance any meaningful amount.

I would leave Ring Down Bin checked. Try increasing the CPU turbo ratios to 48 or 49 if you want a tiny amount of extra performance.

I did some 10850K testing to find out the purpose of the mystery Overclock box. At default settings, the maximum turbo multiplier is 52. If I try to overclock and use the 53 multiplier, ThrottleStop shows that the CPU is still limited to 52.

1701290790488.png

If I check the Overclock box with the same settings as above, now the CPU can use the 53 multiplier.
I believe the Overclock setting in ThrottleStop is still relevant on the newer Core i CPUs whenever using multipliers higher than the default maximum values. I usually run this CPU at a consistent 5000 MHz so I do not need to check the Overclock box.
