Need help! Today i bought a RX570 advertised as working off of my local alternative to Craigslist. The pictures attached are something of interest imo, i snapped a few pictures where it seemed that components were missing. Card doesn't display any output, but my pc's fans spin. What do i do now, and where do i go with the repair of it (if its even worth it) Please help me!

  1. Return it, get your money back
  2. Or Toss it and buy a new GPU
  3. Never buy a used GPU again

All of my GPUs have been used! They're great value! Your first two points are good advice for OPs case though

As for OPs question, it's not unusual to have blank spots on the PCB even if it looks like something is supposed to be there. So I don't expect something to actually be missing. Nothing in your pics stand out to me.

These RX 570 and 580s are notorious for being mining cards, so it's possible it has a mining BIOS on it and that's why it doesn't output. Depending on how much you paid for it you could just write it off and get something better, but reflashing it to a stock BIOS is free with a little know how and help from TPU.. if that turns out to be the issue. Or it could just be completely dead

This is where my knowledge ends on flashing though. There are others here that will be able to help properly identify your model and suggest a BIOS to try and maybe even walk you through how to do it. Knowing it's a Sapphire and getting a closer pic of the memory modules will be helpful

Only fit for the bin, you got scammed, 100% the seller knew it was a duff card, it has been tortured, try to get your money back through your bank/CC issuer if possible as I can guarantee whoever sold that is long gone and you won't see a penny from them.

Looks like PCB area around the power connector is fried, I wouldn't get my hopes up of fixing it. Just return it if possible.

I think someone resoldered it?

Will try and measure some traces if needed.

For what reason? They did a poor job at it, too.

Edit: I doubt it was resoldered, if they did so poor job on those 2 pins, I doubt they did other 6 correct. Other 6 look like factory soldering.

It's fine to buy second hand, but only if you can verify the thing is working fine in person.

For me, its almost never worth it. I dont trust people enough. The only thing I will buy second hand is a car. But my last two cars have been brand new with leases.

Edit: I should add that the secondhand cars are always through a dealership. Never a person trying to sell their own personal vehicle.

For $34 you didn't overpay for a dead card, you were misled but they didn't totally screw you at least.
Moving forward if you have to buy a used GPU it must be on a platform with buyer protection (eBay, PayPal etc) and ideally still within warranty too.

Hello.
Just for fun we will try to find a suitable BIOS for your card.
If you ask me - i would say you have a dead soldier there...but that is just me.
I need a picture from labels from the card.
Also i need you to clean up the GPU and make a close up picture using macro and a good light source.

Sure will try, which labels do you need pics of? And which sections of the PCB do you need close up pics of?
