What is your oldest PC component/peripheral that you still use today

This 32 GB flash drive. Although I have a 1 GB drive somewhere that I use for UEFI updates etc.

Interesting question.

I think a Samsung ssd 500GB is the oldest part in my pc. I never thought to replace it or just remove it after I bought a second nvme.

But anyway, most of the parts in my pc are not technologically new-new.

hmmm oldest as far as owned duration:
whole custom system I built in 2012 that's my hubby's pc/media pc

The PC from System Specs (minus the Monitor, Case and Video Card = broken).

- MSI P35 Neo2-FR
- Intel E2160 (3004 Mhz) - Revison M0 / 1.304 V
- Noctua NH-U12P /Artic Accelero S1 Rev.2 + T.M. / 2 x NH-U12P
- WD3200AAKS
- Mushkin 996580
- Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music
- Corsair CMPSU-520HX

Also worth to be added - that this PC endured a serious fall (most of it at least), well... both from its former grace (ofc) - but also quite literally.. :\

Wall socket. Must be at least 50 years old. But still giving me 230v very reliably!

1) Cooler Master Cosmos RS1000 housing my main rig. Drive cages removed. Previous owner prepped the front panel for 3x140mm mounts, but at some point in the future I plan to redo it for something different and much cooler, along with making a custom front IO panel w/ Type-C and few USB3.0 ports.

2) Logitech G5. It's still alive, and it's my daily driver at the office. Pretty much unkillable.
There's a very old refurb. log in my sig, if anyone's interested. Haven't done anything to it since v2.
... and I still have all weights for it.

3) An old Nokia SD card. It's a whooping 64MB!
I think it's nearing its 20th birthday soon(probably older than some of our fellow TPUers :D ).
Still using it frequently for various microcontroller projects, flashing 3D Printers, RC remotes etc. etc. etc.

My bedroom HTPC is based around a Haswell 4765T and an MSi H81 m-ITX motherboard (released in 2013). I bought them second hand, though.

Plextor M6Pro 256 GB, still going strong.

Oof is that the famous ”poop knife” ?
No idea. It was my main kitchen knife up until I bought something of higher quality. And it started losing its sharpness in a blink of an eye on top of that.

seeing im a bio computer and into my 6th decade "me" :) .

On my desk I keep an emac from 2001. Not so much an Apple fan these days but I still have a soft spot for some of the older stuff, and its crt screen is great for emulators.

In my main pc... I think it would be the one mx500 thats from 2020. Unless the monitor counts, thats from ~2015.

Not a daily driver, but I still fire up a Packard Bell that's running a Pentium Overdrive, has 8 mb ram, and running 3.11 for work groups. :peace:

In current use would be a Cooler Master HAF 932 AMD Edition. Like this:

Air intaks.jpeg

Still using some 80mm papst fans in the side of my case - they are from early 2002

An LG BluRay/DVD drive from 2014 (I think).

1080p 60Hz Samsung monitor from 12 years ago. Counter-strike-2 has 400 FPS now. So 340 of FPS are wasted. I will buy 1440p 240Hz later. Or maybe 4k 120 Hz. For whatever RTX 4070 can do.

80GB 2.5" HDD from an old Lenovo T500. Used for installation media, because I don't really care about speed on that.

2009 (?) vintage.

Edit: I may have older keboards and mice, but not sure about that.

Had a Packard Hell laptop in the past (2003)..... Never again!!

Didn't know they sold Packard Bell products in US.
My first PC was a Packard Bell 286 that I bought in 1988.

Gateway & Packard Bell were both bought by Acer ~2007. PB was fairly active in the US back in the 90's & early 00's.

My daily keyboard is 2010 Logitech K300. The key stickers did not even rub off yet.
