What are you playing?

I'm not sure if I have the Steam or Origin version, but I need the Steam version as I've recently switched to Linux. I'll have a look. :)
Sadly, the C&C series is not on the SteamDeck list;
Yet there is this;
Don't know what else to say on that one except, I hope it works for you.

You should be able to use Lutris for Origin/EA App games on Linux, but as far as I recall, it is a bit more finicky to set up.

That shouldn't be an issue. The Steam Deck list isn't very accurate anyway.

I've just installed W40k: Space Marine 1 after Steam being adamant that it's not compatible with Linux (I had to override its suggestions), and it works like a charm. :)

I haven't figured out Lutris, yet. Heroic Launcher is great, though, only that it's limited to GOG and Epic games.

Fair enough! Have fun!

Dakar Desert Rally is another fun game ruined by poor controls. It's a real shame because it looks great and it's arcadey enough for me. I don't usually have a problem using a keyboard in an arcade racer, but the controls are all over the place and far too sensitive to the slightest movement.

Precisely. Heroic is ridiculously easy to set up and get going.

looked at its reviews.. its badd....

Finally finished the main story of HorizonFW, now on to finish Baldur's Gate 3, and KCD.

Just uninstalled Little Nightmares 2. There's a section where you need to control a flashlight and move, but it was designed with controller play (recommends it) so it's appallingly clumsy. You need the flashlight to 'freeze' enemies, and after checking a reddit thread, it gets worse. So, enjoyable game ruined by shitty controller option/mechanic.
Reminds me Alan Wake ... I remember the same thing :/

Controllers are dumb (except for Mortal Kombat and a few other rarities).
Well idk about that but they certainly don't have the precision of a mouse. Nevertheless, since most games are designed around the controller I have one and use it all the time. Often I will use a controller and a mouse in the same game, or even at the same time. Like controller for moving and whatever else and mouse for precision aiming. I know that sounds messed up, but idk, it can work. For example when I was playing sandland, I would ride my motorcycle with the controller, and aim the turret with the mouse. And... it worked. I could also lean back more than if I needed the keyboard.

But whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Tried Starcom unknown space but ..oh boy, is it dull. In between fights it's a lot of scanning, a bit of talking (aka reading), and a few of rolling the imaginary dice on away missions that really doesn't help the pace either. The other part is the mission structure; go to waypoint, scan or fight, fail/win ..yay.. Also I'm currently wondering where to go because I get no new missions.
I do like the ship upgrade system but it won't save the game for me, alas.

On to Baldur's Gate 3..old save or fresh start? The age old question :D

With this type of game I always land on fresh start, and then get fed up again half way through, rinse and repeat   Great way to keep yourself busy

check the mission log. you may have to do something/go somewhere in order next step of the mission to trigger.
there were 1 or 2 occasions where you had to speak with caleano station npcs ( scientist and tactical officer ) in order to get next mission but they werent marked in the interface that you have to speak with them next

I usually prefer continuing the character I created earlier. I created it for a reason, not to be ditched. But then, I logged into Cyberpunk 2077 not long ago to check out the new expansion, and man...
I played it until the end back in the days, but after such a long pause, I have no idea how to play the game anymore. I looked into my inventory and thought "wtf is all this crap?"

It seems returning to the game gave me more missions. So I'll give it another go.

Yeah, I invested a lot of time in the character it would be a shame to start all the way over. I only tend to do a restart when the devs change something drastically (looking at you Satisfactory :banghead:)

Silent hill 2 remake and loving it!

I thought it was a joke. Looks interesting.
afaik its a team of 10 or so people, they are devs they are self publishing. Updates are kind of slow but i haven't had any bugs yet. As far as early accesses go, this game is quite polished. Plus there are a lot of mods and the devs are making sure modding is easy with lots of documentation etc.

enter the drama.... NOT!

i don't care about lgbtiBBQ, whatever claims about bioware being done because of that game

ofc my favorite is DA:O and awakening ... but i loved DA2 and DA:I ...

so: Veilguard, is good ... imho. I enjoy the gameplay, the storytelling and a lot of thing about it ... (i also enjoy the fact that i got it as a gift from a friend and i only added the 20chf for the deluxe ed digital upgrade even tho it only add cosmetics ;) ) ok it diverge a lot from the other DA i reckon, but i am fine with it.

the graphic are good, Arlathan forest look awesome

oh ... yeah ... in single player i usually do a female character at first ;) that's one of my weakness (started with a preset from the Nexus ) tbf she look like the Auri replacer i use in Skyrim for the "Song of the Green"
but i confess i prefer the elves from Veilguard (unpopular opinion i guess judging by the reviews  )
and Warrior class, a true sight to see, fighting with a shield and sword feel impactful, tho the 2 handed hammer or axe really make her shine, what, bows & arrows? Magic? dual sword or daggers? nah elf warrior rocks!

4.7hrs in it, yeah i like it :D

And Varric look, well ... he look Varric enough.

I am around 24 hours in now and there is a quite lot of lore (and previous characters) appearing, some of which is going back to origins but I won't be any more specific as I don't wanna dish out spoilers, I also think it's pretty good and am enjoying it, it's fast paced the further you get into the game and fun IMO, although it has it's faults definitely. There is a patch coming out this week, not sure what for as it's been as smooth as silk and glitch free for me unless it's for stuff later on in the game.
There are also reports that Bioware are not intending doing any DLC's, possibly because most of the Veilguard team have already moved over to Mass Effect 5.

I've been revisiting Command & Conquer 3 Tiberian Wars.
I am very surprised by how well it holds up. Still feels fresh and beautiful.
Granted, running the OG disc version that I have on Win11 is a PITA, so it runs on my Win7 system(my T3500 with W3680+GTX1070ti).
C&C3 is best played with OG disc without patches if you play through campaign, because patches only to balance multiplayer but unbalanced the computer in campaign. Especially Kane's Wrath.

I guess characters looking like a 5 year old molded them from playdoh is part of the new AAA gaming experience. :(
