SLI vs Crossfire Chipsets

Well, time for a new motherboard (YES! AT LAST!)

Question I have though, is should I go Crossifre or SLI? I've found suitable boards for both, but I'd like more insight on which is best. I presently have aGeForce 7100GS (soon to be gotten rid of, I hope), but am looking for maximum OCability. Which chipset do you recommend?

The nVidia chipsets tend to OC better than AMD chipsets. Supposedly, however, AMD's new 790fx chipset is a great clocker.

790fx is slightly out of my price range by about £100 lol.

Another question, which chipset was it that has hacked drivers to run Crossfire and SLI? I was kinda hoping to GPU fold...

I think it was nForce4 SLI. I suggest a 590SLI board for OCing, however.

What is your budget anyway? There is a healthy amount of Gigabyte boards on that one site. I heard the 775 Fatality series where not all they are cracked up to be. Personally I would just find DFI and be done with it :roll:

Budget at the minute is £150, and that needs to include a CPU. I would prefer a Crosfire board, as I fold frequently. I have this one in mind: http://www.dabs.com/productview.asp...tionKey=11143,405070000,4294953870,4294959071

if you dont have much requirements on oc (basic it works prerfect on 1333 from 1066 THAT IT nothing more) is very good and cheap.
perhaps the cheapest sli...

The hacked drivers are intended for intel chipsets...and TBH they suck ballz. the newest version of these HACKED drivers is like the 91.xx series, oh and BTW they do NOT support the *series cards at all!!!!

Isn't SLi chipset based and Crossfire driver based?

Now if that is true why not get an nForce based board. Then you could run crossfire on it if the time ever comes.
