The TPU UK Clubhouse

It's the humidity that gets me, the UK does not seem to ever hit 25C plus without high humidity, I love the sun and would prefer a 45 degree celcius desert with very low humidity to a 27 degree UK with the opposite.
Ya I used to work in the goves (Govi Desert) for a bit, summer hit about 35-38C but humidity was probably 10%..............although with no trees for 100s of KM and dark rusty colour dirt and a strong wind it was kinda like a convection oven lol

I lived in Kuwait for 4 years mid to late 90's, it was quite commonplace in the summer months to exceed 50C and even during the night the lows were mid 40's but apart from maybe one day a year it was a dry heat. Damn we used to play softball in those temps in the middle of the desert.

Just need to struggle through today then i'll have some reprieve

Sleeping at night is a piece of cake. Try working nights and sleeping in daytime. :D Luckily, I'm used to the scorching hot Hungarian summers, so for me, this is business as usual. :)

I've been sleeping in just my boxers and its just about manageable without a fan.

I used to go on holidays to my sister's home, in the Amazonian rainforest, 40° and close to 100% humidity... this UK "heat" is just mild to me, but I very much welcome the sunshine.

Maximum way to survive in the house is just leave all your blinds/curtains down to block out sun and then prey your fan can keep you cooled down enough.

My wife and youngest daughter just got back last night from a long weekend in Budapest and they said it was baking there but less humid than over here, I now wish I had gone with them but I drew the short straw as we are having some building work done and one of us had to stay to make sure we had something left in the house :ohwell:

When did they change the "requirement" to access voicemail?
I need to include a recorded voice mail and some pin code just to access the voice box?

must be network specific unless you are trying to access your voicemail from a different number. I remember some folks used to do it from a landline in the past but I think networks also charged for accessing voicemail too back then. Now its all free.

I've accessed my voicemail on a few occasions dialling the number (123) and its only recently they are asking me to re-do my pin code and record a voice message? Which I have never needed to do before.

When I was on Three. I never had to record a voice message. Always left it at the default. It did ask me to set a pin number for added security but once it was set it never asked me again.

Maybe Three have changed and started mandating voice messages and the redoing of security pins. This might point to their outage just recently being security related, although Im just speculating. I was with Three for almost 15 years. There are better networks than Three and many offer better service and for less.

The only real downside for me was losing the roaming for Hong Kong. Now I have to do sim card swaps.

I may consider switching myself to be fair, i've been with Three for almost 10 years now. Although I don't think any network provider coverage is that good in my area.
Struggling to get a signal just to ring the voicemail number, even my partner on giffgaff(o2 etc) struggles to get a decent signal.

With that said. I think Three are set to merge with vodafone. If you hang around long enough, your service might improve.

I dont think Three give much of a shit about customer loyalty and retention as they used to.

Anyway. Change is always good. And you'll never know if the grass is greener on the other side till you make the jump.

Central AC going 22C inside, although humidity getting up over 56%. Didn't get below 20C last night but 85% rel humidity cause more rain. It is pretty green outside though, the plants are liking it.

The terrible grass that these cowboy builders lay down in the area look like dry as a desert in this heat over here.

Well lucky for me my wish has been granted hopefully, going to get some nice rain tomorrow to cool down a bit.

Three did that to me as well. Although the last straw was when they cancelled free EU roaming even for long-time customers like myself. Paying £2 a day just to have service abroad doesn't do it for me. Small networks like Lebara, Lyca or Giffgaff offer much better value for a lot less money than the big four these days. I definitely recommend switching!

Yeah it was the same for me on the roaming front with three, left them 3 years ago, am with Tesco mobile now who still offer EU roaming for free but that ends at the end of this year or early next year I think. Not on a contract anymore so I will stay with tesco until the free roaming expires and move on.

Well I had to step outside just to get access to my voicemail. Annoyingly it was the delivery company that left 2 voicemail to me and luckily they still planned the delivery and driver still turned up.

Had a minor internet outage last night around 10pm, have no way to check status on the BT website apart from apparently logging in.
Well it would help if you actually let me see my accounts properly, tried adding my broadband account number again and it still doesn't work properly. :slap:
