AMD to Bring Back K8 Architecture

Its the fact they are making new steppings and clock speeds. Bringing back K8 - Making new cpus.

I want a 4GHz brisbane. That I can OC to 8GHz. Without even needing a cooler.

hat, that makes no sense whatsoever.:shadedshu

I wish it was possible though. That would be kickass.

I concur! Those coolerless Intel 286s knew how it was done!
Also, I want one too. That 6400+ seems to get close to the C2D 6750. Maybe this is a smart move for AMD.

What are the chances we could be seeing an Athlon X2 7000+ or 8000+? That might actually be competition for the C2D series.

And if you ask me, AMD should be making all eleven of their new CPUs "Black Edition". They can't afford not to. I agree with peach1971. I want a 7000+ Black Edition.

Why didnt AMD make a quad core brisbane?. I would buy 1

Because it wouldn't be a *native* quad core. A FX-70 is effectively a Quad Core Brisbane, is it not?

Not really since it is 2 phyiscal chips, why does it really matter that is isnt native quad core. Arent Core 2 Quad basically two Core 2 duo's hammered together?

Well, heck. Why not make a couple s939 processors while you're at it?!

why not just Bring back the 939 but make it Flexible with DDR2, (939 DDR2 Motherboards) For those who have AM2/AM2+ they will get adapters since the 939 sockets are not pin compatible with AM2 CPUs

I think they shouldn't bring back the K8 Architecture. They should revise the K10's to have Similar architecture, if not better.

edit- Although I've never used the K10's, I think it's pointless to bring back old technology. BUt I have to admit, the K8's rock :rockout:

well let me think high clocks and low power i see no reason why they shouldnt milk the crap out of brisbane looking forward to a 4ghz brisbane chip :rockout:

Yea why not bring back dual core S754s for that matter. You won't be having any memory compatibility problems. Mix and match. And give 4 slots for memory. that system would rock with 4Gs of ram or even 8Gs of ram.

I would say diffuse 2 dual core Brisy (@4G) and compete with Intel Quad. That would atleast buy them some time for tweaking their K10s.

dual core 754?

I would love to see a x939 Brisbane unlocked. Why not? They would for sure sell all the chips they could make! Has anyone seen any FX-60's for sale anywhere? Didn't think so.

Ya. I am sure many of us are having some S754 boards still in use. I do. Have 2. One is a Abit NF8. That one is a Overclock God.

oh, i thought you were saying they actually existed, lol.
i don't think that the 754 chipsets could handle dual cores, that's why they moved over to 939, but yea, dual core 754 would be nice but probably expensive as hell.
