I'm looking at some 140mm fans to possibly replace the ones I have now. One of them has had a bearing go I think, and although I'm gonna get an RMA, its kinda left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. I have heard of yate loons being mentioned before but I didnt know what they were like. Are they better than the sharkoon's I have now?

Here is a link to the ones I'm looking at (Model No. D14SL-12 )

:toast:

yeah got 4 on my rad Yate Loon High Speed Fan: D12SH-12 there 120mm

but I would get at least the 1400 rpm ones

more AIR FLOW (CFM)

yeah got 4 on my rad Yate Loon High Speed Fan: D12SH-12 there 120mm

but I would get at least the 1400 rpm ones

But more noise :ohwell:

I'm running my 140mm's at 700rpm atm.

Yate loons are great for the price you pay, there's far better performing fans but they cost way more. if there too loud try throttling them a bit until you get the right noise level. (i see you've already slowed them down )

25dB 46.9CFM vs 29dB 62CFM

not that much vs the more CFM you'll be getting

I have Yate loons in all of my servers, great fans :D

Yates aren't the best fans (by noise/CFM/pressure) but they're totally phenomenal for their price.

When you buy Yates, buy in quantities...
:D

Thanks for the info guys. I will prob be sticking to my sharkoons for now, cus it seems Scan are sending out a replacement today after I put in an RMA last night! :D

Nice one scan :rockout:

But if I ever replace em, I'll definetly consider Yate Loons.

yate loons are great. nexus fans (the ones i use) are rebadged yate loons.
