Halo 3 Recon Expansion Announced for Fall 2009

Follwing the teaser trailer "Prepare to drop", which left many gamers guessing as to what this rumoured campaign expansion was about, Microsoft officially announced in its keynote at the Tokyo Game Show today, that it will be called Halo 3 Recon. With only a year to wait, this has been scheduled for release in Fall 2009. The official website featuring a new trailer is now up and can be found here

I am thinking you will play as an ODST based on the slogan "prepare to drop", but I am also, thinking that it may have something to do with the brutes. Maybe something like halo 2 where you played MC and the Arbiter.

I doubt it, dont forget this is an expansion to Halo 3, so unless Halo 3 comes out for PC in the next 12months...

Halo has great multiplayer.

Gears of War is great for the casual player.

Fable (and most likely Fable 2) is the best all around game on the Xbox 360.

CoD4 is a good multiplayer game but Ive had ALOT more fun at LANs with Halo1, 2, and 3.

Im guessing the "no more Halo games" thing is a fluke. Cant wait for this.

I wouldn't mind a little something more. I think they need to do more special events online like last halloween's zombie mode to hold us out for another year. That was effing fun!

I was thinking the same thing. I thought Bungie said they were going to take a break from the Halo series. I didn't believe that they would be done for good, but I thought they were going to make a game or two not based on Halo before they made another Halo game. This looks pretty interesting though, looks like you play as a shock trooper and not Master chief. Should be good, I can't wait.

Well I know they did buy themselves back from Microsoft, so they are an independent game developer once again. I do believe that they stated for the time being they are going to continue to develop games for the xbox 360 exclusively. Besides Microsoft owns the Halo IP, so for the time being your only going to see halo games on the xbox and windows based pc.
