Ahead of the launch of Microsoft's next big update to its Windows operating system, the company seems to be ready with its product compatibility assurance logo. The "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, was leaked to the media, sourced by MadboxPC. It may feature electronically, or printed as stickers. The logo will be featured on computer hardware and software that is compatible with Windows 7. What criteria exactly define qualification for this logo is not known at this point in time.

it looks very good

my PC didnt come with that sticker! i'd better throw it all away...

I'm guessing that to make that logo appear, relevant hardware would need driver support for x86 and x64 support, with WHQL certification.

It looks boring and cliché, sort of a straight copy of the Vista logo. How dull and uninspiring.

IMO of course :)

looks pretty cool

A little bit more glimmer than the "compatible with vista" sticker.
But I bet they won't have any problems when people try and put 7 onto a machine...
Unlike what happened with the XP to Vista issues...

looks like a fake any bet it wont look like that

looks good on a black case:)

I hate these compatible stickers, utterly pointless exercise, like a certain "internet ready" sticker...

Are these in China yet to buy on ebay :D:D:D

I want the proper Windows 7 sticker, not just "Compatible with".

You know like with Vista, you had an ugly grey sticker that said compatible, and then a much nicer white one that meant certified

same...
but you could always cut out the "compatible with":D

Oh, I enjoyed that response. It's exactly the point that whatever isn't "Windows X compatible/certified" won't work with the OS, being a marketing farce.

But what I find even funnier is how, in fear of customers believing this marketing farce, they all jump on the band wagon and use it as an advertising gimmick, albeit only in order to gain back the fairness in sales. Everything from monitors to mouse pads were "Windows Vista compatible" and now "Windows 7 compatible", when they have absolutely nothing to do with the OS or even software, largely.

So, basically, that sticker and what it stands for is utterly bullshit. What doesn't come with it, such as every single thing I own, works flawlessly with Windows 7. What does come with it, has about the same chances of working with Windows 7 as something that does not, and I for one support the courageous companies who do not use this lie.

I agree. throw that crap out of the window.:D

And youll bet your bottom dollar there wont be the probs they had with the Vista ones. :p

oh yeah. i cant wait for the inevitable posts from people saying how bad 7 is, how its laggy and how their PC doesnt work, or how their 20 year old laser printer using a COM port wont work and its all microsofts fault trying to make money...

hell i cant make shit up as good as what we usually get when a new OS launches :)

hmm looks fake, i mean the Logo Color Scheme Looks that of Windows XP, not Future Version of Windows at all, If i recall the newer Logos are supposed to have a Glossy Look.

How long until the lawsuits start!

it'd be funny if the stickers had poor adhesive. it falls off, so the PC is no longer compatible :P
