Corsair introduced a new line of PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600 MHz) memory kits based its latest memory module design, the Corsair Vengeance. The Vengeance modules make use standard height DIMM PCBs, making use of a 'light' heatsink that goes on to be slightly taller than the PCB. 'Light', because unlike the heatsinks on the Dominator modules, Vengeance's heatsink looks to consist of just thick metal plates of the heatspreader elongating into a few heatsink fins, much like G.Skill's RipJaws modules.

The Vengeance modules can operate at 1600 MHz speeds with DRAM voltage of 1.5V, with CL8 and CL9 timings available in the lineup. The modules come in densities of 2 GB and 4 GB, making up single-channel (single module), dual-channel, and triple-channel memory kits, in capacities of 4 GB (single module), 8 GB (2x 4 GB) dual-channel, 6 GB (3x 2 GB) triple-channel, and 12 GB (3x 4 GB) triple-channel.

A list of models follows.
  • 4GB (1x4GB) 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V Single-Channel DDR3 (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
  • 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 @ 1.5V Triple-Channel DDR3 (CMZ6GX3M3A1600C8)
  • 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V Dual-Channel DDR3 (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
  • 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 @ 1.5V Dual-Channel DDR3 (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)
  • 12GB (3x4GB) 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V Triple-Channel DDR3 (CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9)
  • 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V Dual-Channel DDR3 (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)

:(

Aesthetically, compared to Dominators these look pants - looking forward to reviews.

Ok. I well be the first to admit that I am old...but what does "these look pants" mean? Good or bad? Is it an english (uk) term? Sorry, like I said, I am old. :D

English slang I am assuming. These look aggressively sexy :D

 i think something looking pants is supposed to be a bad thing but i really don't know.

To be honest i prefer the style of the dominators but some good overclocking would easily change my mind, time to wait for reviews.

As in, crusty smelly white fronts... briefs. We don't call trousers pants, that's just weird.

;)

It is a bad thing.

I have to laugh at the fact that I'm a brit an i could not be sure if it was good or not... some people like wearing pants, I'm more of a boxers guy though

Remind's me of bit's out of a lego box.

EDIT:

Do the heatsinks and all the stickers actually help cooling performance?

The stickers are there to represent the brand/model ;)

The heatsinks... yes they help.

The heat sinks don't do anything.... but the sticks make them go faster

Seriously though the heat sinks do help keep them cooler when over volting but for the most part some directed airflow is enough to cool the memory chips without heat sinks so i would not really expect them to help much if at all as far as pushing the sticks further goes.

I like the look of them, they remind me of Warhammer 40,000 Gun Metal and with a hint of Crysis about them, if you know what I mean...

I nearly fell off my chair laughing!

Actually I do considering I used to collect Warhammer 40K and I have both Crysis games - totally see where you're coming from.

It was the mental image wasn't it.

:p

I could have been far more coarse but y'know, it wasn't necessary.

Thanks for clearing that up for me...i will now be using this term more often so that I may appear younger and more british...:D :toast:

Same here, I used to mix the bolt gun metal with a smidgin of black to get the darker look, like these Vengeance sticks are.

It was the mental image wasn't it.

I know; I'm lucky I didn't have my cuppa in my hand...

Meh, I prefer my Dominator GT's

High-five!

As do I. A much simpler design and colour scheme - that to me is more attractive than the aforementioned Vengeance.I expect the Dominators to still cost more though.

Boo green pcb. I do like the lower than 1.65 voltage though

VENGEANCE!!!1!

They do look pretty slick, but like mlee49 said, the Dominator GT's look better IMO :)

These are sweet, but I hope they will make an option for more colors.

high latency !!
