Thanks to TPU for having the demo file available for download. i downloaded it without problem, installed it, and ran it.

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

NFS Porsche was better, Hot Pursuit 2 was better, Underground 2 was better. (I havent tried Carbon).

Very disappointing.

Well I think thats becuase of what type you Choose. King Handels like shit, Casual is Ok and then Racer gives me the best control. I really don't see why yall are disin the game so much. Its not that bad, to be honest I like it more then any of the other NFS games so far and its only a demo. The Graphics are preaty nice(except for the smoke which looks animated or somtim), the textures look like the Works of DX10 and it perfroms really well on max settings. I think we will all be more impressed with the actually game then some demo with one type of car and incomplete game.

You need to be culled like a diseased sheep...

Neon and big spoilers and ridiculous body kits with massive wanker-pipe exhausts are the future of ricers, and ricers ARE the future.

Thanks Ripper3 for the feedback.

Racing and flying sims have always been my favourite (why else did I spend 18 months designing and building my own cockpit).

i have been mucking around with Carbon for a while and with my setup it works a treat.

Also thanks to everyone for pointing our GTR2 and Race07. I had lost touch with whats out there in terms of racing sims so tonight I will be busy downloading all three.:)

BTW - on a slightly different note what do you guys think of V8 Supercars 3 (aka Toca Race Driver 3).

I was thinking of buying this one but the reviews I have read on this weren't that great, so I would love some first hand feedback.

Thanks for the feedback!

Is that because TOCA is more of a driving simulator than an arcade game?

From what I have seen of the game it looks quite good, might have to go out and buy a copy.

Opinion of Oz:
For a racing game.... I dont like Need for Speed series. It doesnt apeal to me and the feeling just dont satisfy me.... well but atleast it is wayyyy faster and better than SRS street syndicate..... SRS is slow like hell! slowest of the slowest racing game I have experienced. Anyhow I am pretty much interest in Pro Street just cause it is the first True ps3/360 title and True Next Gen graphic.... unlike Carbon, a fake ps3/360 title.... just an enhance graphic from ps2 graphic. I will download the Pro Street demo for the PC later on once I clear up my Hard Drive.

Favorite Arcade Style Racing Game:
Midnight Club 2, Midnight Club 3 and next will be Midnight Club Los Angeles.

Favorite Simulator Racing Game
Gran Turismo series..... super realistic! super awesome! just super superb!

I agree GT is one of the best if not the best driving simulators, just wish there was a PC version?

I used to think GT was the best, and was always planning on buying anything Sony decided to launch GT on...
Then I built my PC, and found GTR.
Suffice to say, I haven't touched my PS2 in a few months, and the last two games I remember playing were Family Guy (awesome, lol), and The Getaway: Black Monday (brilliant game)

GT will probably never make it to the PC, since Sony is selling their consoles by making it exclusive, but if they did release GT4 onto PC, that would be nice. It still looks good, and would likely have great modding potential, without Sony losing out PS3 sales, by giving us the older game instead of the newer GT5/GT HD or w/e the hell they decided to name it now.

What I would really like is a racing game, that's a simulation, but you can either choose to be a street racer, or a circuit racer with big contracts and stuff.
Having a whole island, like in Test Drive Unlimited, a few large and small professional circuits, and hundreds of miles of various roads, from bumpy C-roads with plenty of twists, to long straight, smooth motorways, to get around the island. Greater customisation options, on a par with ProStreet (which seems to have the most customisation options of most racers I've seen), with the chance to do precision settings, like in Simbin's racers.
Gentlemen, I think we all agree, that would make for a pretty sweet game.
