The 2nd episode sold me on "Weakest Tamer picking up Trash". It has a lot of promise behind this plot now.

I wonder if Ivy will remain a "weak" protagonist, which would be extremely unique compared to all of the other Isekai. I'm still expecting her to have some kind of hidden-superpower (because that overpowered main character is one of the most consistent tropes of Isekai). But if she remains weak, then it will be somehow more unique than otherwise.

Can't go wrong with a Ghibli movie, it was directed by a man that dislikes "anime" but loves producing anime.

Finished it last Sunday. It felt like they had solid material for 22 episode season one with a second season to follow maybe 2 years later but at some point studio said "F#ck it, we'll do 25 episodes just cram it all in" and second season never materialized.
Based on the reviews out there I see no reason to bother with the movies or the 2016 series. But I would love to read the original manga at some point.
